I Need Ideas For This....

This was given to me at work and I need some ideas on what to use this for in my garage. It measures 20" square on top and 23" tall. I thought I might mount my miter saw on it but its too short. Too short for a table orbench. Its too nice to throw out but have no idea what to use it for.

Portable table for laying parts on. Put a small toolbox on it.

Looks like it would be easy enough to add on to the legs with some angle iron to get it up to a usable height, for what I don't know. Might make a good portable welding bench if you fit a table top inside the frame work, then you could use the tee track for hold downs.

If you have several table top type power tools you could easily put a top on it and make it such that all of those tools will mount to it using pins or clamps

That is made out of 80/20 or some equivalent. You can buy pieces of 80/20 for a reasonable price on eBay to get the height you want for a bench. The stuff is pretty expensive but very nice.

The reason I took it was to use as a weld table, but didnt realize how short it was.

I made a rolling work cart from some 80/20 not long ago. But thanks for the ideas.

I have access to random pieces of 80/20 at work, so it can be turned into anything really, it just looks like it would be perfect for something like it is, just not sure what. Worse case scenario it gets disassembled and saved for later.

Thats a good idea. I was also thinking of turning it into a jack, ramp, jack stand station but not sure if its worth it.

I think we may have a winner. I have a tablesaw but its on flimsy steel legs without wheels and its a pain to move around. Im going to give this a try i think. Awesome Idea!

The three rails in the middle, drop those to the bottom. Take a rail that is spanning the top and add it to the bottom side with no rail. The other spanning rail move it to the middle of the span.

Now the frame is rigid, and ready for crazy ideas.

It looks very sturdy. I think I'd mount a bottom tool chest on it.. Or you could send it off to Haugy and he could mount his hot **** neighbor on it.... Just a thought..

I scored tons of 8020 from my work. I just disassembled everything for future use. Then you can build what you want.

Being that it is 8020, you can easily use it for anything. If you have anything that needs a tub/tank that would be probably a nice height such as dunk tank, electrolysis tank, part washer, etc.

Thank you to everybody who gave me ideas. I decided to go with mounting my table saw on it. Perfect fit and will make it much easier to move around my garage.
