Almost any HVAC contractor can handle it, are we talking portable units or split systems? If portable and you can take to them it will be cheaper.

How do I approach this, have 2 AC unit that needs the R22 sucked...
Who do I go to , and how do I approach them, I wanted save the components.... for projects.
Burnout wouldn't matter to us, mixed refrigerant would be a big deal however.Any decent HVAC service company should be able to recover your R22, but if you had a burnout they may not want to touch it.

We sell our recovered r-22 to a company that will remanufacture it, last time I think we got 5 or 6$ a pound, if there is any other refrigerant mixed with it it will cost us something like 8 or 10$ a pound to get rid of, I know this because we had a 100 pound tank of r-22 that somehow got 4-5 ounces of r-410a and we had to pay to get rid of it. Now if we have anything suspect it goes in a small tank by itself until the reclaim company comes.

Then why do you sell the leak check dye if it's going to contaminate the freon in every system it's used in? Scumballs. I stopped buying from them.
