only time ive ever used one was to pull the steering column adjustment handle off a jeep cherokee.. and that was only because I got tired of chipping the plastic finish with pliers..

Used 'em a bunch. They were the only ones that fit on the hold down nuts for the back of my Auto-Meter gauges.

I thought everyone had sets of ignition wrenches. it's those, the L shaped allen wrenches, and screwdriver bits that craftsman used to make their sets seem bigger when comparing sets by number of pieces. I still have mine from my first "real" tool purchace when I was in the navy. Back then I thought I could take on the world with my 258 piece craftsman tool set and carry around tool box.
allen wrenches and screwdriver bits are not ignition wrenches. ignition wrenches are very small compact wrenches and often came with some very small screwdrivers, feeler guages, a channeloock type plier and a small file and were used for,,,,,,,,well the name explains itself.
I have used mine on occasion but not for anything ignition related.
