The 'ol Oxwall 7/32 was the only wrench that was gonna do the job. Must be my Dad's from the '70's.

only time ive ever used one was to pull the steering column adjustment handle off a jeep cherokee.. and that was only because I got tired of chipping the plastic finish with pliers..

Used 'em a bunch. They were the only ones that fit on the hold down nuts for the back of my Auto-Meter gauges.

I still use point distributors, but as you mentioned, they are very good for installing gauges. Gotta have a complete set of every kind --

I thought everyone had sets of ignition wrenches. it's those, the L shaped allen wrenches, and screwdriver bits that craftsman used to make their sets seem bigger when comparing sets by number of pieces. I still have mine from my first "real" tool purchace when I was in the navy. Back then I thought I could take on the world with my 258 piece craftsman tool set and carry around tool box.

Use them in electronics a lot. Haven't taken a Kettering ignition apart in maybe a decade but still use the wrenches.

allen wrenches and screwdriver bits are not ignition wrenches. ignition wrenches are very small compact wrenches and often came with some very small screwdrivers,feeler guages, a channeloock type plier and a small file and were used for,,,,,,,,well the name explains itself.

thanks sk, I think you missed my point though. I was trying to say that ignition wrenches, allen wrenches and screwdriver bits are all cheap small tools thrown into sets to make the set appear bigger by having more pieces. sorry for any confusion.

I think you might have missed his point. He was saying that the mentioned tools were those that Sears traditionally included in their tool set package deals to help pump up the tool piece count of the set.

I have 2 sets of Craftsman ignition wrenches, and they do come in handy. One of the few Sears tools in the box.

I used the smallest ignition wrench i had and gave it to a girlfriend on a neclace and told her that my love was guaranteed forever (craftsman set). I don't think I could ever pull something like that as a grown up now and keep a straight face.

I use a 5.5 to true wheels by one manufacturer, and occasionally and 8mm or 10mm for backing nuts. i have used a fractional wrenches for paintball pneumatics, bead sites,and that Lark at my brothers.

I cannot remember if I have ever used mine. I have a set of MAC ignition wrenches with the ignition pliers, and a set of John Deere ignition wrenches, both sets are in their original factory pouches.

I have 4 SAE sets accumulated over the years: 2 Craftsman, a New Britain & an Armstrong.

I'd actually like a metric set...

These came in a box of junk from a swap meet.I have used the 3/8 7/16
combo a time or two but the 7/32 15/64 I haven't had the occasion too.
BTW,made in the USA also...
