Just don't buy one from the company named Burntable and you should be fine. they have the worst reputation in the industry.

If I were buying a turnkey table I'd probably buy a Starlabs or Westcott. Or if you are handy, build it yourself like I did with a CandCNC electronics kit and a gantry kit from precision Plasma. You'll save money and learn your table inside and out.

Starlabs table with a hypertherm plasma. Love mine, it's been amazing for almost 10 years now. Would buy from them again in a heartbeat if I needed a new one!

Arclight Dynamics is also pretty good. I built my own like Ovrrdrive did and it wasn't that hard. Seems overwhelming at first, but there's not much to it. I have a whole build thread on mine.

I'm almost done with mine, PPLLC and CandCNC with Hypertherm.

If it wasn't for the day job and the Christmas around the corner I'd be done already.

I have a dynatorch table in our shop. The table itself is really good. The software is pretty good. Sometimes its cutting and just goes off in the weeds. Its pretty frustrating when that happens. Run the same g code again and it cuts it just fine.

Very simple/basic burn table.... All my burning is by hand, no fancy machines.. I use a piece of bar grating (upside down so I don,t burn the ropes) on top of a 50 gallon drum to catch the sparks and scraps, when the barrel gets full just make a run to the scrap yard and ready to go again....

I have one I have been thinking of trading off or selling. It does a fine job of cutting. Just doesn't have the "fine" capabilities I am looking for. I have spent 37 years around Lasers and Turrets so my expectations are a little over the top.

It is a Shop Sabre Side Kick 120 x 60 Water Table. I have a Hypertherm 65 on it and it came with a router attachment for doing Aluminum or Millwork.

The replacement machine will be an Omax Water Jet or Flow Water Jet...still doing my research on the Water Jets.

I would love to put a Laser in but the consumables are an issue. Not sure if I want to be handling 6 Packs of Oxygen and Nitrogen in my home shop. And it would not be used enough to have Liquid Bulk on hand.

The Shop Sabre is well built, takes about 1 minute to calibrate and is fairly accurate. It is a turnkey machine including the Software and Computer. Heavy duty 1 piece Frame and water Table.

Mostly craft projects for the wife. I do cut lots of same size parts. I do everything by hand now. Lots of targets for shooting ranges, brackets for equipment etc. Just thinking a burn table would be easier. Getting OLD isn't fun.

I built my first one in 2014 and it is still going strong, Bought a Star Labs in February and it is a horse... save money, build one, learn a lot about them that way and it makes it easier to deal with some of the idiosyncrasies of these units. Learn to use CAD and CAM to greater effect. My 5x5 table in 2014 when I was working a full time job took me two days after work to build the frame and when I installed the motors when they arrived it worked just fine. That machine turned into my full time job in 2015, and has grown to an entire shop. The original 5x5 paid for itself in 6 months, the new one is a 5x10 and it was paid for in the first 4 months doing almost $150k in work.

kkroger- I looked up that Star Labs outfit, those machines look excellent.

What lead you to the Star Labs over say Saber, or any others?

Tarbellb- I knew of Star labs back when they were just Bull Tear, Back when I built the 5x5, I contacted a number of table manufacturers, and product manufacturers, I wanted a Bull Tear Gantry but it alone would have cost more than my entire table, I contacted them when I was getting table number two because I already knew the quality was there, Matt gave me a good deal on the 5x10, delivered. and the electronics are basically the same as what I have on my 5x5 so that was a no brainer (CandCNC) when I initially contacted manufacturers back in 2014, I got RFQs from 2 out of 10 or so... of those one has a very poor name these days... the other was Star Labs at the time out of my reach, But Precision Plasma was recommended and CandCNC by some others so I contacted PPLLC and Ron replied to me within 2 hours on a Saturday, I then contacted CandCNC and Tom Replied to me on a Saturday within an hour... Plans were hatched and products ordered as soon as I was able, 2 DAYS later I had my PPLLC Gantry and 4 weeks later I had my CandCNC Electronics, during that time frame I built the table and when the electronics arrived I installed them and fired it up following the instructions and cut my first parts. I gave up on a great many of the manufacturers who never even got back to me.... I entertained Burntables brand at that point and contacted them and talked to a salesman and so forth then ultimately built my own... for FAR less... My 5x5 all up and running with Plasma, Router, Scribe, Scanner, was around $7k... I already had a plasma... But had to modify it a smidge to work with the table then I upgraded to a Hypertherm PM65 initially I was using my PM30...
