I left my drag car in my parents garage in Minnesota, along with some other belongings as I was just starting out, many years ago. Thieves came in though a side window in the garage. They removed the fiberglass frontend and flipping it upsidedown onto the roof of the car. My parents were leaving to go to work the next morning and noticed the missing rear wheels and slicks, along with the complete tunnel ram. Little bastards even took the time to unbolt the tube framed bucket seats. It wasn't until I came home 6 months later that we realised that my 20 horse merc outboard fishing motor no longer had a fuel tank. I'm sure it was kids from the neighborhood, but how do you prove it.
I now live in a town of 800, that has 450 CCW permits issued. Haven't lost a pencil since I've lived here. Steal something here, good luck making out of town. Western justice is alive and well.

I picked up a guy one evening, and as we got under way he talked about picking up strangers and pulled out a knife to rob me. :headscrat I gave him a crazed look and hit the door locks, pedal to the floor and hit 85 - 90 mph before I knew it. I told the guy you never know what type of crazy person will pick you up. I went thru several grassy medians, and back to my lane, before the guy jumped from my speeding car screaming. :lol_hitti
Must have been really scary !! Not trying to be a PIA here but , and I would have done everything you did .... except lock him IN to your car ? And I seriously would have been the first one to jump out.... "tuck and roll", insurance will pay for the car + incinerated contents......or maybe at least the car, forget the contents I suppose i can wear that loss . Either way , not nice to have to deal with this stuff. Hope you're OK

back in 04 my parents bought new house and while we were moving we had a few odds end ends go missing, my dad had worked for the city for years lived next to the county sherif, my dad is a jack of all trades lots of wood working tools, tractor tools, general service stuff, and he had it all piled into his 93 suburban with a broken alpine cd deck
he is the kinda guy that never feels like he has to lock his door, the doors on our moving trailer, the doors on the truck and the doors on his 1971 chev k10 with the keys in the ign were all unlocked that night
the next morning there were hand prints on all te windows, hand prind on our big screen in the trailer, and no more broken alpine
for laughs my dad reported it, two days later the kid sold the deck to a differnt guy, he found it was broken and when the kid wouldnt refund him he called the cops on the kid
my dad identified the deck and the kid whole stole it had to buy him a brand new one of my dads choosing wash all the windows on our vehicles and had to do comunity service, my dad and the sherif cut the kid a break, and he did his comunity service by being our one person trailer loader as we all got to eat and watch and finish up the packing

Last summer during the heat of summer had the cast iron pump stolen off a windmill . A neighbor 1/8 of a mile away said they had heard alot of banging . So the pump was broke up for scrap . The pump was worth 175-200 bucks just as a yard ornament . The thieves dropped the pipe ,pullrod and pump down the well we were able to fish it out . Dad welded up some pipe to replace the cast iron pump it is not as valuable . Thankful that it was not the only source of water for the cattle.

Young kid (17) working 4 the contractor, stole 1000ft of romex wire and a 250ft roll from my building. I sure would like 2 spit some beech nut in that dude's eye!!! The cop's are involved but so far no proof. Please share your story's of how you've been robbed. Maybe, just maybe it will calm me down.... but I doubt it.... I guess with some kids you just can't fix stupid!!!

We have two buildings, and the El (Chicago elevated metro) train runs through the property. Trucks enter under the tracks and back into the loading dock - oh yeah, the LOVE that.

I saw a guy in a pickup pull in and back up to the dock. He walked to the door, looked around, and went in. I thought is was suspicious, so I parked my Jeep to block him in. He came out carrying a couple motors, dropped then in his truck, and then turned to get in. He saw me parked there and actually said, "hey, I'm in a bit of a hurry. Would you mind moving?" :wtf:

I told him I left the keys in my office (why the car was parked there without keys evidently didn't go through his mind). I went inside, called the cops, and he was arrested.

Now ask me about the time one of the trucks hit my car and took off - and the cops said they wouldn't file a hit-and-run unless I had the guy's driver's license number! :headscrat:

We had a new dog in our family one year at Chirstmas time, so as a test to see if the dog would mess with presents under the tree, I wrapped about 5 medium sized boxes with a can of pork&beans in them for weight. We got robed and they took all the presents. Just wish I could have seen the look on their faces when they unwrapped the beans.

On a nicer note, one of our customer service reps was robbed around Christmas two years ago, and the thieves took all the presents for her kids. We happened to mention this as we were dropping some stuff off at the local Fire Department. The next day, a fire truck pulled up out front, and the firemen brought in toys and bikes for her kids.

Way to go CFD (Damen & Grace).

I've only had one thing stolen and it was the dumbest thing. A basketball setup. You know.. the ones you fill with water that weight a ton. I’m an IT nerd and have a IP camera security cameras. I only have two right now but since my new garage being built this week I'll be adding more. I don’t think anyone would bother with my house and have to contend with my two pits. And most of my import papers and firearms are in one of these...call me paranoid.

Well so far I have been lucky . I live in a small town and all the neighbors keep an eye out . There was a store robbed on the outside of town but the homes here are OK . We do have some problem with kids and we all know who they are and where we live so that pretty much keeps things down too .

Just trying to figure out how that kid picked up a 1000' of copper wire ? That stuff is very heavy ! He had to have someone to help him . Just curious on how you know it was him that took it ? you said you have no proof so are you sure he got it or maybe someone else stole the wire ? Well if he is going to go through all that work stripping the wire he really has nothing better to do than that . That will take a good while to do all that wire . Well if he is going to take to the scrap yard I would tell them to look out for someone bringing in a bunch of balls of copper .

Don't you know someone that will , how do I say this , Talk to the kid in a dark alley some night and explain to him how things work when you steal something that doesn't belong to him ? I am sure you know someone that would enjoy a tank of gas and a couple cases of beer to explain the facts of life to the kid , right ? Hey works for me !

These kids get away with so much just because they aren't 18 yet ! They know it and unless something beside the so called laws don't start taking care of this problem , it will never stop ! :Gun1:

hope the ******* , ******* falls off a tall ladder one day , by accident of course !
Hey , just a thought !

1000' of 14-2 or 12-2 romex could be carried by most normal sized guys.. 14-2 is like 60 lbs, 12-2 is around 80.
