Looks like clips for adjusting valves. Keeps the oil from squirting all over the place.

If I’m right, you clip them on to the rocker in a way that it covers the push rod oiling hole. Had a set that I used a lot back in my drag racing days.IMG_0195.jpeg
That was quick. That is them. I used to have a pair of sbc valve covers cut out for doing that. Thank you

I remember a friend of mine trying to adjust the valves on his SBC with a set of those. He'd bump one and knock off and while trying to catch it knock tow or three more off. After about a half hour of me laughing at him I asked if he wanted to borrow my cut valve cover.

You mean I shot burning oil up my arms for no reason? What an idjit. I didn't even think of using something like this when adjusting the valves on my 67 Cougar after a valve seal replacement.
