I know that someone may have an Idea...:headscrat...I am looking to find out what Year and Make of Floor Jack this is.
I have had this for at least 28 years now (without any issues), but Thanks to this Forum and some of the posts here, I have started to take it apart and sand it for a fresh rebuild and new paint.
I have asked on another post, but it was originally a bright red color, its very heavy, not sure if it is 1 1/2 ton or 2 ton, but it lifts my sons Avalanche with ease. It does not leak, but it does have one bad caster and one "loose" caster, so I would like to replace them.
I am going to paint it...you guessed it...Chevy Orange. This way it matches my Chicago Morgan Vise.
I did find this half buried in the mud at a junkyard years and years ago, so it may be older than 30-35 years old.
It may be a Sears Jack, who knows...and it had a large sticker on the lift plate under the Blue paint that was red and white.
Any Clues??????? Thanks!

Red and white should scream Blackhawk, but this does not look Blackhawk to me. Hein Warners were always orange and Walker/Lincoln was always blue, or blue and yellow, so I am running out of options.

I have a gut feeling that is an old import special that was spray bombed. No tag to find?

Agreed!!! Based on the casters, it looks like a Taiwanese 1.5 or 2 ton model. They were great jacks though -- the higher end units were of excellent quality.

I have been taking it apart and sanding it down to the bare metal, there is only three layers...the Blue top coat (spray painted), the original Bright Red and a brownish orange primer.
So, it could be Blackhawk...Sears...or a Taiwanese Jack at this point.
I do need some new swivel Casters, even bolt on ones would be good. Anyone know a good source for those?

It looks alot like my 1970 NORCO 1.5 ton.Bought it new and it was red and white.Just rebuilt it this winter after all these years of heavy use.I think they were made in Japan back then and sold under the NORCO brand here.Norco is located on the west coast.

Kc, Sorry but I'm too old to know how to post pictures !!! LOL. Go to the Norco site and their 2 ton looks like my Norco jack.Mine has a one piece handle so it has to be old.The handle was white and the jack was red.Yours looks just like mine. CG. P.S.Maybe someone else can post a picture of a Norco 1.5 jack with a one piece handle. Also those Jacks were $250.00 in 1970 and worked great on my 1963 corvette coupe.

As i stated in some of my earlier posts, Most if All Hydraulic jack manufactures at one time or another including Blackhawk, Hein Werner, Lincoln, Sears, used China Units and put there tag on them and sold them at a premium. IF your Unit looks like this one at the back regardless of the color of your jack.. IT is China/Taiwan. I would like to add that doesnt neccesarily make it Junk, or not worth fixing, but it will require more maintenance than normal american made jacks account it uses Orings and backups on the pump, Oring on the tank nut and even some use orings on the ram (believe it or not). Where as your higher quality jacks use Leather packing, compression nuts where you can tighten them as they tend to start leaking, Leather cups, Poly cups, etc.... Good day fellas

I was looking at all the pictures here trying to find what kind my tagless jack was that I am trying to fix. It turns out that the 'Rat Jack ' and the ' orange ' picture showing the valve caps are it exactly. It must be a Norco. Mine has the leaking valve syndrome and I am trying to find out what I can do without hurting it. It was a good working jack but I left it outside too much and now I am paying the price
