Impact driver bits...where to buy?

Just like the title says,I broke my Phillips head bit for my impact driver a while ago,and can't find one locally for some reason.Whet do you guys find replacement bits for yours?Checked HD,Ace, even local Fastenal dealer.Nobody can point me in the right direction.Hate to have to order 1 bit online.

given the wera impaktor and the shockwave. Which I have own both. The Wera is the more durable impact bit. The shockwaves are good, and easier to pickup at any H-D. And compare price, the shockwaves are cheaper as well.

I would also recommend wiha terminator. Was helping my friend a pro carpenter who got them recently. And they are super durable in a daily uses environment.

They are, I wore out 2 shockwave for every 1 impaktor I wore out. But all impact bits fail sooner or later. And the impaktor were always later.

Dan,Lotso,and Shoturtle-see I asked at our local HD,and they said they didn't carry any impact driver bits.I even looked around and I couldn't find any.I'd assume they would be in the same area with all the other hand tools,no?Maybe I gotta go look again.

Lemme ask.....are you really seeing that much of a difference..

I've yet to buy a impact bit.

I have TONS of Apex bits. I mainly frame with Torx or Square (depends on which screw bucket I happen to use). I've yet to have one wear *more than normal* on the same bits I've used on regular drills framing..

simple answer, Yes they make a huge difference when you are building with hardwood. We built a deck with the wera impaktor and they were so much better then the non impact.

I use the long shockwave bits and am satisfied, I generally will lose the bit before it wears out.

My hand held impact is part of a matco kit, and I haven't had to replace bits yet.

electric, I have use the wiha, wera and shockwave on a bosch 18v impactor. The hand held I used had 1/4" as well.

You should be able to find the big 5/16" bits at some of the Sears. Home Depot sells the whole kit. The Ace here happened to have a couple sets of Great Neck brand.

The shockwave brand are for the electric handheld impact drivers...

I've got way too much in the T10-T20, #1 and #2 Square, and the list goes on....

For hammer style hand impact drivers, Sears has 5/16" impact bits. They are made in Taiwan and do the job. I usually lose mine before I break them.

I personally like the 5 or 6 inch Milwaukee ones myself... I use mine daily and rarely do they break. I've even had the ladies at work use it and I can hear it grinding away.
