Even there, cordless just isn't as powerful as corded. Upgrade to the Hitachi.

I'm not too sure about that. The Snap On and IR cordless impacts are stronger than most, if not all corded guns. The IR is just as powerful as the 2135timax air gun. Haven't seen a corded gun that powerful.

roughly in the 100-200 ft-lb range, but more specifically you could look up the lug torque spec and add 50% to the top of it, again that's a rough estimate to count on breaking it free

Not necessarily an accurate number imo.

Newer cars are typically pretty easy because all of the coating is still on the lug threads and stud threads and the nut doesn't seat as tightly on the wheel till they're good and broken in. But older vehicles, trucks/suv's, cars with lug nuts that are a little worn, rust belt cars, it's very often that they take quite a lot of force to remove.

I would bet that out of the thousands of wheels I've removed, 100-200 ft-lb would be able to remove half of them at the very most. I actually used my 300 ft/lb 3/8" air impact on wheels a lot and it rarely had enough power for trucks and often struggled with older cars.

also has nothing to do with overtorquing. The longer the lugs stay on there without being removed the more force they will take to remove.

Good points all around.

I'm seriously looking at the Bosch 24618-01. I like the price and the compact size. I'm also looking at a system so the driver is in my sights as well at a later date.

The CMan C3 has some mixed reviews, I want one that is quality and has some power for home jobs.

When we do move to a permanent place I will want a compressor and add other tools.

M18 Milwaukee 2663-22 or the Bosch 24618-01? Bosch may win at $100 less. I will let you all know. I know I have to change my wife's Murano's rear brakes and oil over the holidays so I'm itching to use it.

Valuable insights fellas, thanks.

Just a few more comments on the Bosch 18v tools.

I have the high torque impact and have been completely happy with it. It's also "Assembled in the USA" if that's important to you.

I also have the Swiss made 18v drill and asides from a minor issue I have where it slips out of gear it's a solid tool and seems well put together.

The third Bosch 18v tool I have is the Bosch 26618-01 impact driver. This is the best impact driver I've ever had primarily because it has a two speed gearbox (along with the variable trigger) and also can have the impact turned on or off.

Between the Milwaukee 2663-22 and the Bosch 24618-01 I would pick the Milwaukee. The Bosch is essentially a compact impact driver with a 1/2 anvil and IMO will not be as useful.

Those 2 impactors are in different levels, the milwaukee is with the big bosch with the 500ft/lb of torque. Meant to do big time work.

The compact bosch is good for lugs, and stuff around the house.

I have the 26618-01 and it is a great impact driver plus 2 speed drill in one if you get the 1/4 hex bits.

The US big bosch impactor are swiss components assembled in the USA.

Alright fellas, the Bosch 24618-01 is the one. I liked the compact size and the price. The extra $100 savings went to the 23 piece Craftsman impact socket set.

Can't wait to try it out next week when I change my wife's rear brakes.

Next up is the 26618-01 driver. Thanks for the insight,

well since you are going with the bosch it make great sense to stay with one battery system. So I have 2 chargers, and 4 batteries.

I personally like to get 2 full kits with charge and battery, then get the rest as bare tools.

I like the $100 give or take price tag on the bare tool driver, rather than another kit. I see where it would serve well, but I see extra tool money in the savings.

I can't wait to use it.

You got yourself a great little compact impact wrench, I really like the one I have. I am a big bare tool buyer myself. But I would get the impact driver adapter form dewalt for you impact wrench. It is handy at times to have 2 impact drivers. Especially when doing big around the house projects.

This is my bosch lineup. Been really happy with them after I switch from dewalt.
