If all you want to do is insulate your basement, then these panels should work out well. But most times homeowners want to finish off their basement and that means they don't just want to insulate their basement, they also want to put in electrical wiring, a drop ceiling, some type of flooring, set up a video and a sound system, and run the wiring thru the walls or ceiling. To do all that you really want to stud out the walls. If you stud out the walls, then you may as well use spray foam or use 2 inch or 3 inch Styrofoam sheets to insulate the walls.

I did my block garage with it and couldn't be happier. Very easy to work with, electrical channels built in, lightweight, easy to cut and place. I did three 10' high walls of a 30x30 by myself in a couple days. I've posted pictures in a few threads here, so just do a search.
