Hmm, I would have to disagree there. My parents have a new EGO and the handle is not like the Dewalt at all. It is also much more comfortable to use. I mowed with my Dewalt today and also mowed my parent's yard for them with their EGO today. Again, I hate the Dewalt handle, not just the angle, but the division of the handle by the piece that holds the levers, which their EGO does not have on the handle.
I also have other issues with the Dewalt mower that I have been trying to get resolved. I have major buyer's remorse with that mower. I can't use the two 10ah batteries that came with it for more than about 10 minutes and then they are dead. I can use 5ah batteries and get about 20 minutes out of the mower. One of the 10ah batteries is now showing 16.5 volts and won't fully charge, so I'll have to warranty it. The other battery works with other tools, but also drops down to one bar after a full charge after being put in the mower. I am not sure if that is due to the other battery having an issue or if this one is jacked up as well. It's been super frustrating having to mow with an hour break to wait for my 5ah batteries to charge. I wish I never would have bought a cordless mower/sold my gas mower.

45* position for your hands is waaay more natural than straight- so it's no coincidence that's why they're designing handles like that now. Like they should be. When my arms are at rest and put them on the chair armrests, my hands are naturally at 45*; in comparison, they feel uncomfortable horizontal. yes, I have an old mower with a "straight" handle....
I didn't even bother to look at the Makita/DeWalt/etc. setups - even if Milwaukee (who is my power-tool platform) did a mower I'd be highly skeptical of having enough power and density from a power-tool battery, both for power-delivery and battery life. I assume all those guys are implementing protection schemes for the batteries to mitigate the kind of drain cycles something like a mower is going to put them through, but that's also going to cost you battery life.Hmm, I would have to disagree there. I originally planned to get the Kobalt 80v (which is why I already own the trimmer/blower), but ultimately I decided to "risk" a 56W Ego battery platform after a lot of research.
My previous mower had straight handles, and I was plenty skeptical of the Ego design, but as I said I really it. I really liked my old mower, but the weight and weight distribution are really different between the new and the old.
