"Inactive Thread" Warning?

Been a lot of old threads that suddenly appear in the new posts due to weird bumps. Not sure if a spammer bumped them or if someone just isn't paying attention, but answering a question that was asked 10 years ago seems unnecessary....

Is there any way to give a "warning" when you reply to a thread that has had no activity in a period of time?

Some forums disable replying to old topics but I'd much rather just a warning like you suggest.

Numerous times I look for manuals etc for old stuff and come across topics with no answer. It would be best to still be able to add that information when I find it so others can come across it.

It's not that big a problem.
At times, a new member will come on and dig up an ancient thread with something pertinent - some new widget we haven't seen before.
Just roll with it and don't let it bug you.
I find myself a victim of "zombie threads" all too often, but in the end, it's not that big a deal.
Would much prefer a new member dig up a decades-old thread to show us his newly-found right-hand-drive-Whitworth-thread smoke grinding machine than start a new thread. (y)
