This will be for painting motorcycle fairings / tank etc and small parts. Because of time constraints, I'll be doing only one piece at a time.
This a rough drawing, and definitely not to scale.
I plan on making a frame out of PVC or Wood. Using plastic to enclose it. It will be about 8 foot tall as well. So it will be pretty much full enclosed.
I'll use a piece of plastic with velcro for an access door.
I'm assuming it will be an attempt at a positive pressure booth. I plan on using a box fan to push the air / fumes out of the booth / garage and away from the house. I'll use at least two furnace type filters to filter the fumes as the go our the door.
I plan on putting enough thought / time into the design / build of this, so I can easily store it and put it back up for painting other things in the future.
I would think a frame to hold the fan would work, as well as a frame to fit flush (as possible) up to the door so I can keep the majority of the fumes out of the garage and away from the house.
Will a normal box fan provide enough air for this small booth?
I plan on making a 'roof' frame so that I can hang parts and also hang a cheap plug in flourescent light like this:
Any issues with having the light inside the booth?
Is it safe to have my oil-filled electric radiator type heater inside the booth to keep the temp where I want it, or will just near the booth be okay?
Thoughts? Feedback?
Is the 35ft (from the door where the fumes will vent thru the filters) to my neighbors fence enough?
I won't be painting but a handful of pieces, and more than likely one at a time, so I wouldn't think there would be that much coming out.
Thanks for all the help.
