Inline 240v outlets 6-50r and 14r

So I have my welder on a dedicated circuit using 10/2 wire. So two hots and a ground. Of course my powdercoat oven has a nema 4 prong connection. I was thinking since the plug is near the panel I could just jump off my welder outlet and then run a dedicated nuetral over to the box . Mainly because I have 10/2 and dont want to go buy a new length of 10/3. I see there are adapters on amazon to go from 3 to 4 prong but that wouldnt solve the problem of not have a nuetral on the oven plug and from what Ive read is dangerous. Also dont want to shell out for another $40 breaker since I will never use the two plugs at the same time and will probably use the oven twice a year

Code requires all circuit conductors to be together with the exception of an EGC, for retrofitting… so running a separate neutral wont work.

And as asked above, what is the wattage rating on the oven….

If the oven is higher than 5750 watts, #10 isn't big enough anyway.

I bet you need to run a new wire, probably 8/3, which would also mean a 40a breaker as you can no longer have it be welder only. Keeping a 50a breaker will require 6/3, afaik

That's where I was heading. Once the stove is on the welder circuit, the welder exceptions go away.

I agree..... But I didn't see the OP mention having a 50A breaker on the existing welder circuit.

That's the problem with many threads. There isn't sufficient information given so all one can do is ask q's, guess or assume.

I have welder on a 50 amp. After lots of research Im just gonna pony up and do it correctly. Run a direct circuit. Got the oven free off next door so a $40 breaker and $30 for a few feet of 8/3 guess I gotta pay to play
