Over the last weekend, I finally installed most of my 3/4" Maxline airline kit. I got it last year for father's day and finally got around to installing it. Didn't want to rush into it or anything.

Overall, I am impressed with the kit. The connectors that seal to the tube work great. It bends easy enough. You do risk kinking it if you bend too much one one spot. So far I did one main line from my compressor (it sits in a storage room next to the garage) up into the attic then to a drop on one wall and tees over to a hose reel that is also in the attic but drops down through the ceiling.

I am chasing at least one leak which is next to the pressure regulator. I didn't want to tighten the fittings on the aluminum body of the regulator too much and it's causing a leak so will have to address that. I also have plans to put 2 more drops. One by my work bench and then one in the front by the garage door. But for now the reel is the big win as that is what I will use the most.

Some pics..

Here is the wall mount port. I ran the lines in the wall but I am using a board to mount the port to. That way if something goes wrong, I can get behind it to the fittings. Also in the attic I can get the tube before it goes into the wall. The plan is to eventually do drywall instead of the peg board.

I've found the Teflon pipe dope to work better than the tape, but the dope may soften up some plastic items it comes in contact with.

I used both tape and dope. It was recommended by rapidair when doing their NPT fittings to prevent galling. Ended up using that method for everything.

I like the way you mounted your reel in the ceiling like that; nice and tidy. I have the same real as and also used the Rapidair Maxline kit in conjunction with copper piping and think it all turned out quite well and has held up so far granted I haven't had it for long so time will tell.

And FWIW I too did a couple passes with teflon tape and then covered that with pipe dope. May be overkill but it aint leaking so Im happy
