The hole on the right is something added or modified from the original. It is a 3-1/8" aircraft instrument hole cutout with the lower LH cutout for either a vertical speed indicator (not likely) or an altimeter (most likely). Those are generally the only two aircraft instruments that need the cutout at the 7:30 position.
Charles, you are correct as it being an aftermarket cut out. I will need to see if I can find an altimeter to fit the cut out. That would be totally cool, do you have a source for such altimeters?

I went over to a neighbors who has a small ford boneyard and picked up this set of guages ...perfect fit.
Some taping, blasting, primer and paint.
Will have to get the rest of it done after work next week.
