Insulation under pad

Hi,

Not sure if this should go in "heating and A/C" or in "flooring" or "general"...

Engineer spec are as follows.

"2" DOW SM INSULATION, CELFORT 200 (OR APPROVED ALTERNATIVE) UNDER 5" SLAB PORTION OF THE FOUNDATION"

"2" DOW SM INSULATION (OR APPROVED ALTERNATIVE) UNDER THICKENED EDGE PORTION AND OUT BEYOND THE EDGE OF THE FOUNDATION"

I am having a hard time locating the C200 requirement locally. Should I be looking for some other name?

When faced with the same issue (could not find the proper foam at my local big-box stores), I was able to source the proper foam from the concrete company. They had everything I needed.

So...give them a call. Mine had the mesh I needed to tie my PEX loops to as well. So I had them deliver it at the same time.

Celfort 200 is just 2" thick XPS insulation. Formular 200 is the same thing.

So why the different callout by the engineer? I was told by him that the C200 is for high pressure applications, where the other 2" is cheaper and can be used outside the underneath of pad.

I'll definitely be doing this, I need them to deliver some 6x6 WWM too, hoping I can get them to send 20' lengths!

Most xps is sold in different psi ratings.

Celfort 200 is the old name for Foamular C-200.

Thanks all,

local insulation company had C-300 so I went with that. Less than half the price of a sheet at Home Depot... if I could even get it!
