I found an image of this parts cabinet attached to sale of another tool. It looks very interesting. E-mailed the seller x2 , but no response.
Tried to look it up online, but no luck. Somehow I feel I saw one of those somewhere on GJ, but can not locate it. The only other version which showed up was Borg-Warner Automotive Tune-Up Parts advertising display

Does anybody have any information on those? If you have one, can you post some pictures inside and out. How big is it?

I wonder how much one of those would cost (in good condition)?

Looking forward to learning more about it!

These are not uncommon. I have several versions at the shop. We used to buy ignition modules, plug wires etc in an assortment, they would come in these cabinets. A parts rep would restock them for us. They are full of old parts, tire weights and junk now.

Thank you, Oldtuleguy. How old are those (or do they still produce them?)

Kept looking for size - found an expired advertisement on Ebay with dimentions 31"X29"X12". They appear to go 200+ on ebay, but I think I should be able to eventually find one much cheaper...

My late Father had one of those on the wall of his shop in the late 50's -early 60's. I'm going to have to guess at its size, roughly 36" square. It had a number of shelves and partitions inside, including the inside of the doors, since it was designed for ignition components of the day, points, condensers, rotors and distributor caps. My Dad normally preferred OEM parts, but he felt Shurhit stuff was superior to most OEM parts back then. His was all grey, with lettering in red IIRC. I think if I saw one for sale, I'd have to buy it just for the memories. It was mounted on the wall above his parts cleaning tank and as a little kid, I spent a lotta time at cleaning parts for him.

That one looks late 80s or 90s. Last one I got was a standard motor parts version around 2005.

This one is not rare. I see one on Craigslist from time-to-time. The one pictured is from the 80s even though it has graphics of antique cars on the door.

I see them in the 50-75 dollar range and they always linger for a week or two before vanishing. $200 is more money than sense pricing.

Thank you, thehorse13. I greatly appreciate the real world price. If I see one for 50, I will definitely buy it.

If you are near the I95 corridor north of Boston, I might have a plain white one (missing lock and mechanism) that I'd let go for cheap. (Real cheap in comparison) PM me if interested.

Thank you, Oldtule guy. I will try to look for a lower price as thehorse13 mentioned that he sees them periodically for 50-75$

Jakemac, thank you for the offer. I am looking for the one which has the vintage car image on the left door.

Thank you, Jakemac. I am looking for the one with retro car images.

I read through some of your posts previously when I was educating myself on Craftsman Speed Ratchet - you made an amazing restoration of 1960!

We seem to be living not far from each other - I am not far from that corridor. You have a large garage - if you have a lathe and need for some tools/tool holders, please look at my post in Classifieds (https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=387985) . If you are interested, we can swap them for something.

I need to pay more attention to these on CL.
Finally got a response from the seller of initial one - already sold... Googled this type of cabinets on CL - one in Carolina for $75 (a little too far...).

I got an old Filko cabinet in my shop. I am going to say early 70's. I left the business 21 years ago and age has took its toll on this old thing left sitting in a hot shop. Thinking of spraying clear coat on it . I will upload a picture of it soon

I worked in auto parts 40 plus years and I have a few different parts cabinets, Belden, Standard Ignition and a Monroe shock barrel. Over the years ive had others but didn't keep them. I wish now id collected more of them.
