I asked my SO man about this hammer today. He said it was gift type package, and is not mainstream stuff. He said not to worry, we'll see.

I can't not point out that China owns umpteen trillion dollars of the USA economy. What's one little hammer?
If Snap on keeps this **** up I won't be buying any more new tools from them. Their Williams line has to be watched, as they have some made in USA and some globaly. I quit buying Williams stuff already. I figured if any company could stay "made in the USA" it would be Snap on. I guess not.
Who makes this hammer for matco? MHVS20000
Please tell me it is USA made. It is my Favorite hammer.
Second favorite MHVS20035
boy, they couldn't stress made in usa anymore in that video, i'd like to hear his opinion on the new hammer.
don't buy chinese **** from snap on.
unions have helped to drive labor rates up so high no wonder they go over seas. On the price of a new car, how much of that goes to take care of the unions?

I am glad the unions are not big in this area, we work go home and then come back the next day. We do not strike or anything like that. Now take all that into consideration and outsource you products to people why are dying to work. literally. see who bargains more for your money. I hate seeing anything but USA, but the world wants a global economy and it looks like that is happening. ( what a shame to see it actually happening in our life time)

Off topic, (I think the SO china hammer is sad though), but I'm just wondering if it'd be safe to start a union type thread? Not one for people to argue (sp?) about wether they are good or bad, but one for me, and maybe some others if they're interested, to learn about unions.
I work non union. Not because I hate unions, it's just the way it worked out is all. I'd like to know what they're all about.
it would work out about as well as the snap on vs (insert brand here) ******* matches.
Yea, that's kinda what I thought too. That's why I kinda snuck the question in here...LOL
Unions in this country are VERY weak.. compare to the EU (where they still make a lot more in country), our unions have been effectively castrated.
The average Ford or GM product has less labor cost per unit then a comprable priced Mercedes or BMW.... and guess who's workers are paid better?
CEO's and Wall St are your problem, not unions..
Corporations in Germany are government subsidized. I believe Unions and goverment are the problem.
You know what I love is when people say it's all the unions. I worked for my uncle as a union aprentice for 3 1/2 years and we were slow most of the time because everyone thought union prices were high. When we bid against a local non union contractor on projects, they were usually alot higher than our bid, sometimes by a couple thousand on a 6-7k project. But it's the mentality like yours that will get a bid from a non union contractor without even checking with a union contractor and you end up getting screwed because of that. Anyone want to guess where all the profit goes when the non union contractor pays it's help $12 with no benifits?
I'm not an expert on Germany, by any means, but they do not have the military, space program, and other expenses that the USA has. I also believe that they have been hit as hard as us, and I also believe their unions will come to end, eventually, as will ours.
maybe we can get one of our german members to answer the question then.........after all if we are going to blame unions and government we should have a good compaison to prove the theory or it just an OPINION. and we all know what they smell like.

Absolutely, I agree. I'll also add that the two countries that are thriving the most in the world are India and China. No unions, Gov't subsidized, low wages, no benefits, no gov't enviroment restrictions. Not that I would want to live in either India or China, just pointing out what works.![]()
then isn't it the goverments of those counties that are thriving? certainly not the general population.
Yes, but countires are generally ranked by their Gross Domestic Product, not their standard of living. Which are two different things.
Lets talk about the cheap erse hammer.........![]()
I work non union. Not because I hate unions said:I have worked non union in the past and its much nicer having seniority, vacation, training, benefits, pay etc. We have gone down this road several times here and it usually ends up being locked or deleted. By the way this has been the first weekend I have had off in four months and my pockets are overflowing![]()
