Hello guys and girls if any.
My first thread on this forum. I'v been reading a lot but never posted. Very nervous.
I am poor stupid emigrant who came to USA form Ukraine. My trip over border was in the trunk of some car. Very uncomfortable. So please except my apologies for misspelling and poor grammar.
I worked hard and got my self little house with chicken cube. Now I want to convert this peace of chicken poop into descent shop. Most important not to wash off poop all at-ones because the building will fall.
So my improvements start with changing 10-years old Colman to some thing more suitable. Came to this board and star reading about compressors.
All my overseas life I knew IR. Very good company. My initial model was from Tractor Supply IR TS4N5. Thanks to "Difference between Ingersoll Rand TS4N5 and 2340N5? " by bmwpower I discover monopoly model from TS. I hate this misbehavior. So started to look into 2340 models. Call to dealer and he mention it runs 1500 RPM. No doubt 2340 is world class compressor. But, is it not what we doing here trying to get best bang for a back?
Then bmwpower mentioned "Quincy" brand. Never heard of if. I did some research and findings were stanishing. Best PSI per dollar, 50,000 hours pump life, made in USA and most important blue color will mach my Miller plasma cutter and mig welder.
In the post "Eaton vs Quincy" by bill9860 I find more support for Quincy.
But now what model? I am leaning to 5Hp, single phase, 60-80 gal tank, 15-20CFM and 150+ max PSI. For now lets take one source NortherTool to compare pricing.
2V41C60VC - $1,500 5Hp, 60 gal, 15.2 CFM, 1310 RPM
well good machine. Just CFM little bit too low if I ran blaster or spray gun. What else?
251CP80VCB - $1,800. Wow ANOTHER $300 more. Let see what is giving me, what is the difference? same 5 Hp , but 80 gal and 17.2 CFM, and same 1310 RPM. Not bad, not bad. What else?
251CS80VCB - $1,900. OMG $100 more? Same 5 Hp and again 80 gal, 17.2 CFM, but look RPM drop to 942 AND it has mag start.
Later from Quinsy brochure I find out the 2V41C60VC also 942RPM.
So conclusion: The winner is 251CS80VCB
Who will support me in the butte with my wife for Quincy 251CS80VCB? Who? Lets here you!
