IR T30 for a grand???

My bad. I would have figured it to be originally a 1750 motor but I went to the engineering data on that compressor and it looks like IR runs the 2475 7.5 hp at 3450 rpm turning the pump at 1500 rpm which is pretty fast(and noisy)

The difference is 16.8 CFM with a 1725 RPM 4 pole motor, rated at 5 HP...

versus 24.3 CFM with a 3450 RPM 2 pole motor, rated at 7.5 HP.

RPM is a significant factor in calculating HP.

Increasing the number of poles in an electric motor increases the torque, but lowers the RPM.

The faster pump speed = more times the cylinders move up and down in any given minute = more units of volume pumped per minute = higher CFM.

(And higher noise, and higher potential wear rates).

For what I read the pump is infinitely rebuildable, and I need a lot of CFM for my blast cabinet so good thing. Thanks for explaining that
