Alright GJ'rs. Lets have this discussion.
I'm really looking for an awesome 3/8 impact that can handle anything thrown at it, since this will likely be my only impact for the next year or so.

I have a HF Earthquake 1/2 but my compressor is not up to the task and even if it was, I find using a compressor for every job a hassle.

Now I was considering a W5130 right now and a W7150 later on.
But the more I think about it, the CT8810 is looking mighty appealing, more so since I could trade in my old cordless impact. So knowing I wont have a good compressor for the foreseeable future, what route would you guys recommend?

I'll be seeing the Snap-On guy today to discuss the CT8810 in Green :D

There have been threads about each but none directly against each other so remember lets keep this to just W5130 Vs. CT8810

I have the IR w5130 and my coworker got the snapon ct8810 a few days ago so having tried them both i like the IR better. Feels better in the hand, seems to be a lil stronger and has better battery life. Plus the IR is cheaper. He said hes thinkin about returning the ct8810 to get the IR but i dont see that happenin cause hes too much of a snapon fanboy lol

factor in cost and warranty.

W5130 weighs 3.6 with small battery
CT8810 weighs 4.5 with battery

IMO SO should have made a slim pack for the 3/8.

Side note: I am personally going to go with Milwaukee 3/8 impact wrench + their new 1/2 impact that's coming out soon.

Supposedly the packs effect the power output so its hard to compare them. The W5130 hits harder with the full 3Ah 20v compared to the compact 1.5Ah it comes with. Snap-On is using the same large 3Ah 18v battery the CT7850 uses most likely to achieve the higher torque.

Maybe Marlin can comment about the W5130s power with the 3Ah batteries compared to the 1.5?

I will say one thing in favor IR, they don't have the momentary computer delay that the Snap-Ons have when you press the trigger. At least as far as im aware.

specs say only a 10 ft lb difference between the slim and larger battery pack - W5130?

I think many who have the W5130 will agree the bigger battery makes a difference. The 3.0AH won't make it hit a 1/2" gun, but it certainly gives it an extra oomph.

I have a CT4410 with the 14.4v and 18v battery. The W5130 is on par with the CT4410 in terms of power, but at the end of the day, I keep using the W5130. For 3/8" duty, the gun is sufficient. If I need more power, then the W7150 comes out to play. You need to realize the limitation of these 3/8" guns. You can have the most badass gun on the market, but it wont replace a proper 1/2" gun.

One thing I will say is the IR has an advantage in price. You can buy a W7150 kit with 2 full size battery, plus a W5130 bare tool for about the same price as a CT7850 kit. Bare CT8810 is an extra $300 or so. Hopefully your trade-in is worth a decent amount should you go with the Snap On.

So I was able to demo a CT8810 last night and check it out. It sure seems awesome but does still feel bulky overall(mostly the 3.0ah battery).

I don't think there is any way I can reason the $600 price tag.

I've heard great things here about the M18 Fuel line and now I debating those directly against the IR W5130 & W7150

I do like the expandability of both lines and the backwards compatibility of the M18 charger.

What say the GJ brethren between IR IQ20V line and Milwaukee M18 Fuel ?

Where are you guys buying the IR's? My SO guy only carries the SO's for obvious reasons. Would be nice to check the IR's out.

Yea the new Fuel high torque 1/2" impact is supposed to be as strong as the w7150. Im definitley gettin it to keep at home and ill compare it to my w7150 i have at work. Milwaukees new fuel high torque impacts are lookin pretty impressive

No experience with the snap ons, but I got the W7150 and the W5130, love them both. I will state that the W5130 hits much harded with the full size battery compared to the half size, it feels like more then 10lbs as well.

In our testing we only see about a 6% difference in torque output (180 vs 190 ft-lbs).

I have the 5130 for 2 months so far so good and like it. It seems it got little stronger with aged. is lighter, feels.good on the hand if you work all day. when bolts don't break loose i use my SA 4550. At first was disappointed cause is not as strong as my ir 3/8(air)is nice that no sockets flying into my face or car. still will need air tools and hand tools to break those rusted bolts. I will buy another 5130 if it last at least a year.;)

Funny you say that because I was just going to say my W5130 got a bit more powerful after I used it for some time. At first I thought the gun was underpowered, but now it's just as powerful, if not more than my Snap On CT4410.
