You can put a regular plug on the end, as long as you aren't required to abide by OSHA regulations.

The plug is a safety thing, in case you lose power it won't just start up when the power comes back on.

Very kool thanks. I'll have to "Acquire" a plug at work today.

It is the Rockwell/ Delta 28-300 the have had lots of problems of the reduction gear not engaging. twist pully while engaging the reduction gearbox. The one I have was froze and took a lot of elbow grease pb blaster to unstick. Cant wait to see rebuild.

You have already checked the essentials, so all it can really need is a motor. that has the slow speed pulley jack shaft, so worth a lot more than the average band saw without it, as you can cut metal with it...

Yep. I've got the same one. Best 14" machine you're ever going to find.
I got mine for $50 at a garage sale, with a 1 HP Baldor motor, and don't have the enclosed base (just the leg stand). $20?!? You totally ****!

Clean it up and repaint, its worth $250 easy. I ts a top notch machine.

Clean up the rust, and a Delta 14" WITHOUT the gearbox, and without the enclosed base, will fetch that any day of the week. That gearbox alone is worth at least as much as the rest of the saw.
As it sits (rust and all, dead plug, assuming the tires are shot), so long as everything turns (even if it makes awful grinding noises), it's a $400 machine all day. Restore it like it deserves, and you can easily double that.

I left a Jet 14" Woodworking band saw at the side of the road 2 weeks ago. It looks like it was in someones garage for 20 years untouched and rusting.

I went by with my wife and looked at it. There was no way the 2 of us we going to get it into the van without something getting injured.

It was gone by morning - so someone grabbed it. I'm trying to clean up my place and a project bandsaw doesn't fit in right now. Hopefully a WW'ed got it before a scrapper.

Good snag at $20.
