Is there a one-step spray-on rust converter? I'm looking for something I can spray at lightly rusted spots under my truck, which would convert rust and act as paint too.

Yes, I know media blasting would be much better. And I see plenty of products that require two steps.......

And I plan on wearing top-of-the-line respirator.

Thanks for any help.

NOT a spray-on application:

requires minimal preparation. wire cup brush on a drill motor or angle grinder to knock the big pieces off - don't need to go down to clean bare metal - I wash with a strong solution of Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) and HOT water to remove all grease/oil residue - apply with throw-away sponge brush - allow to dry overnight.

about $16 - $18 a quart now at Ace Hardware or Home Depot

why the "hi heat" one?
well... because the first time I did this (about 15 years ago on a 1940's coal shovel) it worked, the stuff is still on the shovel blade, I beat the **** out of that shovel doing yard work, so I'm sticking with what works.

Ive been using this stuff for awhile now.

Rust-Oleum 215215 Stops Rust Rust Reformer Rust Reformer 10.25-Ounce Spray-Color Black

It has worked quite well. Ive used it on the frame of my truck and also on my steel rear bumper. Its held up well .

I also use it on the bottom of my mower deck. it holds up fairly well but i clean up the deck and put another coat on each fall.

It goes on just like spray paint which is nice. I would clean up any loose rust but light rust i just spray over

I am using Corroseal. You can spray it on using a spray gun. I brushed it on the bottom of a trailer, but only about a month ago so I am not sure about the long term. It is a converter/primer and on the top of the trailer I painted it with Rustoleum. Was planning on a thread when I have better long term information on the product.
