Is this Craftsman speed wrench missing a part?

The one on the right does not have the handle in the middle section like the one on the left. Is this correct? Thanks!

Looks normal to me. Probably because of the drive size.

I don't think any ( 4 0r 5) of mine have a rotating handle in the middle. Most are bare like the right one.

Now my bit braces are another story, all have the middle handle I think.

I just checked my Craftsman 3/8" Speed Wrench #44271. It looks more like the one on the right in the photo. That is, there is only a rotating grip at the top and not the middle. Also, the grip on mine is more cylindrical than knob-shaped.

No. A lot of them don't have a spinning grip on the center section. My SK speed wrenches don't.

The rotating grip only came on the 1/2 inch drive model.

I bought mine in the mid-90's and have used it only a handful of times. I never got that call from professional race teams to wrench on their cars but I still wait by the phone.

My method is to hold the middle part with a very light grip. That way it slips inside my hand during rotation.

Got the same set.. just picked up the 1/2 on ebay a year or so ago. I've had the 3/8 since about the mid 70's, it never had the middle spinner like the 1/2.
