Is this Craftsman speed wrench missing a part?

The one on the right does not have the handle in the middle section like the one on the left. Is this correct? Thanks!

I don't think any ( 4 0r 5) of mine have a rotating handle in the middle. Most are bare like the right one.

Now my bit braces are another story, all have the middle handle I think.

I just checked my Craftsman 3/8" Speed Wrench #44271. It looks more like the one on the right in the photo. That is, there is only a rotating grip at the top and not the middle. Also, the grip on mine is more cylindrical than knob-shaped.

Okay thanks! Now I know it's intact. Next question, naturally, is whether having the handle is a desirable feature?

I bought mine in the mid-90's and have used it only a handful of times. I never got that call from professional race teams to wrench on their cars but I still wait by the phone. ;)

My method is to hold the middle part with a very light grip. That way it slips inside my hand during rotation.

Got the same set.. just picked up the 1/2 on ebay a year or so ago. I've had the 3/8 since about the mid 70's, it never had the middle spinner like the 1/2.
