lol....I'm thinking the clue should be that it's being picked up with the bucket of a front end loader...

All the lights in the neighborhood would dim when you started that thing up:shocking: You could drill about anything with that.

Good thing about you being Jersey (if anything at all can be said for living there) is that I'm convinced that about a third of the used equipment dealers in the US are in Jersey or New York, a fairly close trip for you, compared to 900 miles for me.:)

I would have to build a bigger garage just for that drill press. I have noticed that there aren't many good used drill presses in the Illinois and Missouri area. I have beed looking for a few months and haven't seen any worth looking at.

I’m impressed! What a nice heavy piece of iron. Great for drilling 2" diameter holes in steel. But not practical for 1/4" holes,, it would be difficult to get a feel of what you’re drilling. And unfortunately most work around the home would be less than 1/2".

Looks like a really nice shaper vise sitting on the table. Most likely worth as much or more than the drill press....

That would look nice in my garage shop. But I’m negotiating on a radial drill press at the time...

I think that's some sort of boring/milling machine rather than a drill press.

No,, Just a rather old super heavy duty drill press. Looks like it was originally run by flat belts and line shaft pulleys. And later in its’ life converted with an huge motor strapped on top. It does have power down feed,,, great for drilling large holes...

Looking for something industrial, variable and cheap...oh yea, and a nice vice thrown in for good measure. :)

Delta, Clausing, Powermatic, etc.

Sometimes there's some good stuff. Most of the time it's really expensive. At least that's what I've been seeing. Sometimes I see a good deal or 2, but usually when I'm broke. :(

If you ever see anything, maybe we can work something out, travel-wise. My father drives around somewhere around the country a couple times a year. It's worked out for someone already. :)

OldCarGuy, if you don't buy this, you'll be sorry! Not sure how close it is, but break out that trailer and pick this bad boy up. I want to see it in action.

Not far from my place,, 90 minutes or so. However I’ll pass on this one,, it’s more drill press than what I need. And the price is a bit steep... Even with the vise it’s only worth half of what the starting bit is...

No drill press is too big!! Saying a drill press is too big is like saying you have too much money, too much fun, too many tools etc. You may think the press is too big when actually your shop is too small!:lol_hitti

Have you actually seen the thread on Old Car Guys shop? If he does not have enough space or need for a machine like this I cannot imagine anyone else doing shop work at home would have much need either! (I think it is far to much machine for home shop applications as well; far more suited to an industrial application)
