^ yep.

If you really want it fixed up with new slides, post pics of them here, call Waterloo, and exhaust your resources.

not whining when i want to get what i paid extra for , othewise i would have bought a cheaper box, this is an odd box, calls and searches have been made by me an sears to waterloo , the manufacturer of the box, the guides this uses are no longer made , nothing i can find will work. I paid for a lifetime warranty, alot extra , at the time it was the second best box sold , the other one was 5k, I want what i paid for , how is that whining. I have searched the web, there are 0 guides made that will work properly with my box. If i modify the box it completely voids my warranty. Is it too much to ask for what I paid for!!!!!!!!!!!!

@HUNTERTOWNSEN,

You've said you can only find 16" slides, but have you tried calling Waterloo directly?

Sounds like that was done already.

Well......one things for sure....... his first impression of this forum will likely make him think twice about returning. He probably didn't even buy anything from the Garage Journal gift shop at the back door. NO SALE!

i don't feel bad about anything. his only reason to be here was that box.

he claimed about buying the best but then the story changed to he bought it on clearance. he started okay if questionable. when it spiraled into threats, fraud and the they should know better than to mess with me it got worse. for some reason i don't know if i buy into the paint falling off and the drawers failing on a box that was never in a working shop and went months without being opened in a climate controlled garage.

he never once mentioned anything other than than the box until questioned and then he was a collector and lover of all tools and things tool related. once people started to see through his bs he spiraled even faster.

for the most part this is a friendly place but anyone who barges into any place and puts on the tuff guy stance is probably just a problem waiting to happen. all he wanted was approval and to be told he was right. i think i pegged him right in an earlier post.

i went back and looked at the first post.

does that really look like a box that has rarely been used? the more i go back and look through this thread it just doesn't smell right.

oh my, they did, but that was before they went closeout in preparation for a new model. i believe the maker of the t shirts is also out of business. i know the place that did the screenprinting is still in business but they refuse to work with me any more. if he has trouble with it before i die i may or may not send him one from the clearance rack at wal-mart or better yet k-mart if i can find one.

that is if he has a receipt..............

Industrial/professional line boxes did indeed have a lifetime warranty,at least at one time.

For some reason I kept a 1994 Sears Tool Catalog. On the 3rd page they have Craftsman Industrial tool storage. There is something called a ProSet tool storage unit 33w x 18d that retailed for $1673 made in the USA.

Craftsman lifetime warranty on top chest and roll-a-way. quote "If your Proset unit ever fails to give you complete satisfaction, simply return it to Sears Shop at Home Service and Sears will replace it, free of charge. Write for a copy of the full unlimited warranty, see page 66a"

On page 66a "A warranty is included with every item covered by a specific written warranty" then it goes on to state that if you would like the written warranty before ordering, mail a request to a address in Utah

I have no idea if a warranty like that applies equally to boxes used professionally or for home use

This thread certainly took a turn.

I think that most of us are too jaded to the fact that Sears ***** and will be gone soon, or assume that he feels entitled to free stuff because wear items went bad after 18 years of use. What he feels deserves, what you think he deserves, what he is going to get and what he is legally entitled to are 4 different things in this conversation... and only one of them is right. :)

He bought a box with (apparently) a lifetime warranty and satisfaction guarantee. I don't see why they shouldn't refund his money if they are unwilling/unable to fix the problems.

Yes, it's kind of ludicrous to demand a new box or the original money back on a 18-year-old box. But it was just as ludicrous for them to have that warranty/guarantee in place on something like a toolbox. It was offered, it was marketed, and its in legal writing... they should make due.
