My thought was actually multiple smaller vertical tanks. Have to get it into the attic through a small hatch so a 60 vertical or horizontal would not work. Realistically nothing bigger then a 30 for both the size of the hatch & then being able to carry it to where it would live while walking on the rafters. Anything with a drain at the bottom & then basically hang the tanks & then drop down using only the drain into a larger 3/4" feeder going back to the compressor. Gravity doing its thing the water will all fall back to this tank with a timed automatic drain on it. I figure having one point to drain instead of multiple would be for the better.

I watched that video years ago. That guy has a very well thought out setup. Other then the tank he welded the crack in.
yeah, don't agree with the welding of the tank unless he is certified, but he should not be promoting it.

Well its alive & done.. Now to get the shelf moved & it into its home, then get a reel installed for it.
Overall I ended up WAY over budget on this. I am into it about 700 after what I sold from my old compressors & the parts of these. The biggest chunk of what I spent was the 500 receiver & 400 for the motor.
Got it up to pressure & checked for leaks & only found one. Its on the plug on the back of the Filter so its about the easiest thing to redo as well. Thinking about it I think I forgot the tape on that one & just put on the putty stuff so installation error for sure.
What I am most impressed with is how quiet it is. Its of course not actually quiet, not going to hold a conversation over it. But my old one would drive me out of the garage if I didn't have earplugs in where as this one is comfortable still.

I know what you mean, way over budget... I bought a NIB v-4 jenny compressor that was missing the flywheel bolt. it was cheap. by time I added a motor, tank & the odds & ends, it wasn't such a great deal, especially since I've never finished it. I do have most of the parts .

Yeah when I originally committed to this I planned to break even if not come out a little ahead. The 900 for the new tank & motor is what did me in. Counting what I lost on the original tank spent 650 on them & was hoping to find a used motor, but havent come across a single phase 5hp within 500 miles for a fair price yet.
If I used was able to use the original tank & then spent 200 on a used motor I would of come out ahead by enough to snag the reelcraft reel that I want.
