Just bought the Craftsman 1/2" impact last Friday Aug 28th, picked it up at the store after getting an unexpected mortage escrow refund in the mail.
wtf, mate? how did you buy one already? the web site says it's not even avalable for preorder yet? in either kit form or add on form.
did they have any bare tools?
im asuming the radio is made a lot like my little ryobi one, if thats the case I say go get it when it goes on special.
I love mine, it lasts FOREVER (easily a couple 8 hr work days) on the compact Li-Ion 18v battery.
and the craftsman has AM so it beats mine right there.

Just bought the Craftsman 1/2" impact last Friday Aug 28th, picked it up at the store after getting an unexpected mortage escrow refund in the mail. Didn't use it for a real job yet but tried it out on my 1966 F100. With a fresh battery it had no problem taking off and reinstalling the lug nuts of two wheels, it never ran down the battery. This uses the same battery as their other 19.2 volt tools so for me I always have plenty of batterys. Craftsman club price was $150 but that special is over. Came with two batteries, charger and nice carrying bag. It seems decent but it's not the Snap-On with 400 Ft/lb of torque. Plus these lugs were properly torqued on with torque wrench, not overtorqued by the bozo at Pep Boys with an air impact set on maximum. Those idiots torqued the lugs on my 2003 F150 Lightning so tight that I had to use my biggest breaker bar with hernia inducing force to get them off. Had a flat tire at my house, lucky it wasn't on the road because I would never have got them off with the regular lug wrench. Went back and broke them all loose and retorqued them properly with a torque wrench, they were all super tight. Will try to keep you all advised of it's performance and durability.
how much is it regular price with 2 batteries? does it come with a hard case or carrying bag? do you like it? worth the $??
The description only says DIE HARD batteries and does not say lithium ion-whatcha think?

finally got it today. it removed one of the lugs on my f250 without any problem. they were torqued to 140ftlbs about 9 months ago. one of these days when i figure out how, i'll make a video removing and installing one or all of the wheels on the truck and put it on youtube. i don't have access to a torque wrench right now. in the mean time here's some eye candy.![]()
finally got it today. it removed 2 of the lugs on my f250 without any problem. they were torqued to 140ftlbs about 6 months ago. i went ahead and put a video on youtube. i don't have access to a torque wrench or a jack so i just took off 2 lug nuts. here's some eye candy.
Can the Impact wrench work using the other batttery?
