Me and my dad just finished our shop and I looked through the storage thread and found several great ideas. I search for jack storage ideas and didn't really find what I was looking for. How are yall storing your jacks/jack stands to keep them out of the way?
Thanks,
JP

My jack stands go on a heavy duty shelf and I just end up slotting my floor jack between shelves or slid underneath my little table saw.

Anything that would involve picking up the jack is out of the question!

Jacks stay on the ground ready for service. Stands can be stored in any way nearby.

BUT, I have 3 and one has the handle broken down and is under a shelf. I guess it's up to the individual.

(It's still on the ground.)

I stack them on top of each other, first on on the ground.
I've the adjustable kind, and drop the center into the handle of the bottom one.

I just put a shelf out in my garage, along a side wall, specifically to store my jack stands and my road-trip tool box. It's like one of the six-foot high knock-together units from home depot. I cut the uprights in half so they're 3-footers, and each is 4 feet long. Jack stands go on the bottom two shelves, and there's a very short shelf right under the top, that's just tall enough for a valve cover, so I've got a whole row of valve covers stacked there.
The top shelf (like a counter top, now) has my road trip tool box and a few other bulky things stored on it.
Under one shelf is my trans jack, under the other is my oil change pan and my floor jack is nosed-in and pushed under.

My creeper is hung on the end, with the wheels on the shelf, and a bungee cord holding it tight to the shelf uprights.

just a thought but if you were to back your floor jack up to a wall and put your foot on the front of the jack it doesnt take much effort to lift the rear wheels by pulling the jack handle towards you .

maybe have some type of strap to hold the jack in the upright position against the wall with the front wheels sitting on the ground, if you dont want to have to take the handle off you could use another strap to hold it in the upright position too ..

probably not worth doing if you use your jack alot but if you only use it occasionally it would take up alot less room standing it up against a wall ..

picture your floor jack being stored like a broom ..
