JC cayer customer service from hell

I ordered a new dewalt 20 brushless hammer drill from JC cayer and had
Some issues with delivery. It was kinda taking a long time so I sent them an email. This was there response. I also copied my original email to show that I was not belligerent or at least I don't think so. In bit a language major or anything like that and my grammar is **** so don't judge. Haha

Hi Mike

Let's be very clear on a few things before we start.

-We have very customer service, you can chat, email, or call us for communication and customer service.
-We DO NOT have control on DeWALT's stock level or speed of shipping!
-There is no need to come out "swinging".

We are here to help you, if you wished to get in communication with us, I believe you have more then enough options to do so.

I will quote from the listing:

"Availability: Special Order, ships within 10 - 15 business days"

"-Any special order items might take longer then the stated time due to unexpected delay from the supplier, if this occurrs, we have very virtually no control on the supplier."

I would also like to iterate that we process a lot of orders and go through a lot of special order, if you were promised to be contacted if any problems would occur is because WE were not notified by DeWALT about any problems.

I do have a solution for you, but I am not sure if this is something that will change your mind on how to start an email and email us respectively.

We could take the DCK296M2 which as the DCD995B inside, and break it for you, but the question is, is it worth it?

Thank You,

Sylvain Cayer

Hi. I was speaking to someone via your website chat over 2 weeks ago. She said my order would ship on Monday feb 24 at the very latest . she also said she would email me if there was a delay or any trouble with the order not going out. I still have not received a confirmation for shipping and the lack of customer service is becoming very frustrating. Can somebody please tell me , what's going on here?

Wtf !! Was I out if line or is he just a horrible choice in there customer service rep ?

Your not the first to report on the customer service/communication skills at JC Cayer.I believe LordDiesel had an issue awhile back and got a similar response.
I can possibly account for some of the tone to be from the language difference.I am totally assuming English is not the CS rep's native language.

I believe the general concensus was to spend your money elsewhere.

I have a couple replies from them that I have saved regarding an issue with a placed order. The last message I sent them was a fairy nice letter stating my displeasure with there company and service. Nothing rude or insulting however...

They told me to, not contact them again

They will never get a penny of my money.

You really should clarify if it was Sylvain or someone else with the company.

Should this go into the vendor feedback portion of the site? Do you guys think it might be nice to have a section dedicated to the good and bad sellers of tools?

that would be an awesome idea so folks don't have a problem or get ripped off

Again? One day he's going to lip off the wrong guy that's a local, and he'll wait for him in the parking lot.

You guys realize that JCCayer is located in Quebec, Canada... and that means their first language is FRENCH, not english. If Sylvain sounds like he is being "rude" it could just be the way his french translates to english. Not only is their language different, so is their culture.

I have called them many times and found someone to speak English with and have had no problems.

Edit: I just read the other threads, I see that this Sylvain guy is a ****. Well guess I won't be making any further orders from them either :)

r22yu. when someone says "come out swinging" they are more than comfortable in English. The fact that the email was sent to a customer is absolutely unacceptable for someone in customer service.

About an hour after I got that email another lady her name was Julie. Emailed me saying that my order was supposed to go out that very day (yeah right). UPS sent me tracking numbers and I had the drill within 24 hours. Drill don't seem to be broken or tampered with. So if she could do that why not the owners son? So I sent a long email to all the top names on there list on the website even Sylvain. Just voicing my concerns and commending Julie for her customer service.

I've read all these threads concerning this ******* too. And someone always says, "Oh, it's b/c he's French." WTF!!! Are these French-Speaking Canucks just the rudest gotdamn people on Earth!?! They just speak to people like this normally. I deal with full blown gangsters at work that have more decency. I'm surprised these dudes aren't getting their teeth knocked down their throat every time they open their ****.

Notwithstanding his name, I don't know what Sylvain's native language is - his mother might very well be English, for instance, and/or English might very well be what was spoken at home - but he chooses to mostly employ English on his personal Facebook page and has no trouble expressing himself.

J-C Cayer is actually located in Limoges, Ontario about 35km SE of Ottawa.

I lived in Quebec for 12 years in total and while it is certainly true that nuances can easily be lost in translation, I do not believe this to be the case here...

Not saying French are assholes, just that they have a different mentality and cultural norms and something we may have said might have came off as "coming out swinging" to them.

It's about perspective.

With that said, it sounds like it's just this one Sylvain guy, the replies in the other posts are far more harsh than this one. I've called them for updates on orders (always spoke to a female, could have been Julie) and they were always polite and helpful.

Another one?

I find it absurd someone would blame his French language. Even if that is the case, they stil operate in Ontario.

Take a look at g+ reviews online:

Its mostly about Sylvain and rude customer service.

Its a shame. They appear to be running a decent company, but this Sylvain guy really ruins it.
I ordered Milwaukee 2797-22 Fuel drill/impact combo from Justin @ bcfasteners last week.

Awesome guy to deal with. Can't wait to get it!

Actually they're in Ontario, albeit the small french town of Limoges just 20 minutes down the road from me. (25 mins east of Ottawa) They're a smallish family run business that really shouldn't be snarky to their customers. They don't seem to stock anything anymore. Used to be a really great store. Not sure what's up there.
