Admittedly I didn't document this well, mainly because it was brutal and I hated it.lol

I took 150mm of height out of this lista chassis to make it a DW750 from a DW900. I can now actually use the top. It was my first scratch and dent purchase from back when.

Lots of spot weld cutting, weld grinding and band file work. You can see unfinished plug welds ( I could have bondo'd everything ) and a slight mismatch in touch up paint on the sides and back, but I'm pleased for purpose. I was able to hit the measurements, drawer fit and leave the front untouched.

Slapped this together quick. A 2x4' heavy gauge expanded metal table, with bolt on legs so I can knock it down if wanted. My desire was something light I could take outside for a quick patina, paint or slap a piece of ply on it for chop saw stand, throw it in the pickup for a quick weld job at a buddy's house......you get the picture.

How do you like the Mittler Brothers brake so far? Spent a lot of time talking with those guys last week at their EAA booth. I'm seriously thinking about buying one to replace my current brake.

It's a very nice made in USA tool. However the "straight finger conversion" where they claim you can bend .125" is pretty much bunk so far.

Got some patina and satin clear on my parts. As with all large/complicated patina jobs, there are some spots I'm not too fond of and some that came out way different in a good way, just how it goes. I really like doing the patinas though. And the obligatory defect in the clear that I'm sure only I'll know about long term but I still think about it.

I'm thinking of switching to gun clear for satin like I do gloss, kinda got soured on the Spraymax 2k cans this time around. I normally just use Finish 1.

Had an Ellis drill press on my dance card for 2025. I came across a deal on an older 2005 model used, it pretty good shape, so I jumped on it. Just a little wipe down and lube. It's a monster. I await a real dolly and nicer chucks in the mail this week. Saved over 50% of a new one, so that will free up some budget space for something else ridiculous.

The book case looks great!! What did you use to make the patina? Did you finish it with a clear ?
Thanks. I use all the steel finishes and rust oxidizers from Metal Finishes Plus. For gloss and semi gloss I use Finish1 Clear. For the real true satin or matte I have to use SpraxMax 2K as I haven't the spray gun skills to make it come out like I want in bulk yet.
