Just grabbed one at that price. Added the magnetic glove/tissue holder and a couple other small items to get to $250, and got $20 off. Thanks OP!

I have not hooked it up due to not having compressed air in the shop.
You can find some youtube videos about it.
Some people have air leaks due to the air fittings inside, you can fix it or if not it will still work ok.

It does come well packaged and I think similar to the Cut40/Cut50 that people were raving about for $300 a few years back.

I’m very curious how well a $200 plasma cutter works compared to something in the $1000 range. The claim of cutting 3/8” is likely exaggerated, it may sever 3/8” with a poor cut and very slowly. My $1600 60amp plasma cutter is rated at 80” per minute in 1/4” steel with a cut rating of 5/8” and sever cut capability of 1-1/8”. I’m thinking these Jegs units will work fine on 16 gauge sheet metal, but anything over 1/8” will cause it to struggle. I hope these work out well for you guys, but until I used one first hand I’d be hesitant. I’d rather not have a tool than have a really crappy version of said tool that just causes frustration.

I made the mistake of purchasing a $229 HF mig welder 20 years ago, there wasn’t enough amperage to weld two pieces of 1/8” steel together. I returned it and purchased a $450 Hobart 130 that worked significantly better (and one of my buddy’s still owns last I knew).

Thanks for the video. I wasn’t looking for it to “beat my $1600 plasma”, that’s not a fair comparison, but to just not be a POS. Call me impressed, for $209 it looks like it does a perfectly acceptable job on common materials. Looks like a great deal!

Thanks, OP! 👍

I ordered one this morning and picked it up at the warehouse in Delaware this afternoon. I'd already be using it if I had an air dryer. I'll be picking one up on my way home from work tomorrow.

It looks like a generic Cut-40D with their logo slap on it ?

I finally got around to trying out the Jeg's plasma cutter Saturday. It worked fine, but had an internal air leak that appears to be pretty common with this unit. So I called customer service and arranged an exchange. I took my air dryer, tools, and an air tank with me when I picked up the replacement. It leaked, too. So did the third one we tried at the counter with the sales guy. I'm supposed to hear back from them Monday. My hopes aren't high that I'll end up with good one.

Why not just fix the issue like others have? Seems like a small price to pay for a good $200 plasma cutter.

There is are a couple of videos about how to replace the air tubes with better ones. I think it is 8mm OD air suspension tubes and some fittings.

Mine leaked, I laughed and thought about every review I read. It leaked from the first push lock fitting from the filter inside the box. I fixed it with a 3/8 pipe to 1/8 barb fitting I had in the shop. There were other fittings that leaked slightly at first as well, but I think the hoses swelled enough to tighten the fit and it seems fine now.

Its stupid, the problem could be solved with a cheaper fitting than the one that is being used.

Yep. Used to go on ebay for less than two bills.
Decent on sheetmetal, my biggest issue was the stiff plastic on the whip.

the main thing for me with these things was the Cut-512D (dual voltage, tig, stick, plasma ) I have die from just sitting in storage for a while :( Never would buy these things again... bad investment.

I thought about it, but the Delaware warehouse is 20 minutes away, and I didn't want whatever warranty there was to be voided because I opened the case. Also, WTF is with the regulator gauge? I wish I would have taken a picture of it. There are two sets of meaningless numbers with no units. I had no idea what it was even set to, just that I had my compressor regulated down to 80 psi ahead of the dryer.

Without seeing it, my guess is that it was a flow meter, not a regulator. Probably marked in CFM.

I got an email Monday that they were refunding money instead of shipping me a new one. I called customer service, and was told they pulled the remaining units off the shelf and tested every one, and they all leaked. They are supposedly working with their supplier and do not know when they will receive a new shipment. At this point, I am going to buy one from Amazon because Prime shipping is free and I can return at my local Kohl's store. I decided my time spent chasing parts and repairing the leaking unit would make it not such a good deal.

I haven't checked mine yet, but maybe I will give them time to get a new shipment to exchange it, if needed!
