I just found this Jib Crane made by manning maxwell and moore. its really cool. the company was founded in 1905 and made supplies for the railroad industry according to wiki. Does anyone have any experience with these. The boom is 15 feet. The I beam is 10 inch by 4.5 I am wondering what my max load is @15ft and how much concrete I need to be safe. I want to use it to lift diesel engines and transmissions from pickup trucks after we have the cab off. I would say no more than 1 ton max. Thanks -Alex

Awesome thanks, does this one look like it should handle a ton?
Should have a rating tag

Your base will be your factor to consider

Also doesn’t work worth a Fawk for pulling engines with cabs off as you have to roll truck foreword to then lift them out. I use my cherry picker or skidsteer then for that

If you don’t move the chassis you can set can back down with no line up issues

As soon as you move chassis getting can back on straight *****. Go jacks are your friend

I have three jib cranes with 10" I beam booms, they have tension straps and a brace. They are 1000 pound capacity. They are a little longer than your jib about 20' mine are sistered to columns in my shop. I have lifted heavy tooling and fixtures close to the columns without issue maybe 12~1400 pounds

Here is a pic of one over my lathes.
