Hey guys. I think my battery is kaput. A new battery from clore costs the same price as a new unit, not very cost effective.

My question is, do you know of any comparable or better than original batteries i can replace it with? I don't want to buy a sub par battery... but if anybody knows who makes the battery for them or makes a higher performance but compatible battery, is be happy!

Ritar is the maker of the "proformer" they sell? The original is obviously 12v... rated 18ah. Will 22ah give a bit better boost than spec says for 770r?

I went through this same issue and wasted money. The problem wasn't actually the battery, it was the charger inside of the jump pack that stopped working. So I bought a new battery and it would not charge which pissed me off so I through the entire package out. Then I bought an Audew jump pack after it received a good review on Project Farm and it died within a year of sitting in my car so that pissed me off too and it went into the garbage as well. Now I've got a super capacitor jump pack that doesn't have any batteries. It works great.

I own the clore booster pac ES580 as well which I keep in my car. Don't know much about jump packs specifically.

Is there a benefit to the larger jump packs vs lithium? Deep cycle?

I'll buy another if need be but if I can fix this one with a quality battery I'd rather do that.

The charger inside the unit I assume is good, I see voltage jump with the pack on and plugged in. Jumps up to 14.6v quickly and then jumps down to a steady 13.5. After removal and sitting overnight its sitting at 12.4v but I'm afraid cold weather and a truck or two will beat it up.

I'm bad at not keeping my jump packs topped off and the batteries only last a few years. I've bought replacements from ebay, amazon, and other online sites for around 50 bucks. Just replace and new pack for the next few years.

Interesting product. Never knew these existed. Seems like the main risk is a super dead battery less than 3v that can’t charge the capacitor. Is it possible to piggyback these somehow off another battery (car or milwaukee m12) in those scenarios?

I have the Autowit and yes you can pre-charge it in another vehicle using the included cigarette lighter plug, the battery clamps or using the USB cable and either another vehicle or wall wort.

I was looking at cap jump packs a few years ago but I like the flashlight, USB and inverter capability of my 770R

My GF has a huge Shumacher jump pack (1200amp I think it is) with a built in AC power inverter, usb ports etc. And she uses it extensively  not only to jump start her dodge minivan and E250 cargo van but when were at the Thompson Motor Speedway swap meet in Conn. back in early November and ran drop lights for her tent sales setup with it I was impressed. Definitely worth the money.

While I was there I scored a jump box myself, an off brand name 1000 Peak amp for only $8.00 :eyecrazy: "Super Start".

Took a chance it be good was showing a 75% charge when I purchased it, fully charged up fine after I got back home. Plugged in a small 140w power invertor to the 12v port and checked voltage output. Even ran a floor fan :D If I do need another battery I figure may be ahead of the game on this one. I also have a small Shumacher 400 Peak I had purchased just for my motorcycles and riding mower.

Some years ago I had a Coleman jump box and it had its own external pin style AC charge power supply which was lost in a move and pretty much rendered that useless. I did take the battery out to charge it, but dead by then.

Really do like the fact all these newer ones just use an extension cord.

To address your earlier question I have no clue who supplies Clore battery somewhere I read they claim its there "own" battery. :wtf:

As for the ones I linked to AJC seems to be the actual manufacturer and their batteries are sold under numerous "brand" names. As for a giving performance boost I just would think the 22ah would simply provide slightly more reserve cranking power.

Thanks. If my JNC ever lets me down sounds like this is next.

I too needed a new battery for my JNC. I got a replacement battery from the Snap-On man that only lasted a couple of years. When that one went bad, I called a big battery supplier place that had the exact one in stock and have been happy ever since.

Did it happen to be interstate battery?

I bought generic replacement battery based on size for my JNC Air. It's been good for at least 5 years. The original Clore battery lasted less than 2 years.

I need a replacement battery for my JNC AIR. The JNC105 replacement from Clore is $100 + $24 shipping. I was looking at the Mighty Max equivalent. The Mighty Max ML22-12 is $46.99 delivered and the ML22-12 GEL is $59.99 delivered, both from Amazon. Suggestions?

I have bought several replacement lead acid batteries for solar jump pacs over the years from the river and the bay sites. Although they were much cheaper than the clore replacement batteries they don’t seem to last. The cheaper batteries are lucky to get a year but as low as 25% the cost of a clore. Maybe I have just been unlucky in my purchases but that has been my experience being a cheapskate. Unfortunately a clore replacement battery is about the same price as a complete new booster pac with new leads, new charger etc….Spend the money on a quality battery replacement or a new battery pack IMHO, YMMV.

I have had good luck with the Mighty Max batteries in my Clore. I dont use the jump pack that often but charge it every six months. I get three to four years out of the Mighty Max batteries.

Mighty Max batteries are probably OK if your device has a smart charger. If not like a Tripp-Lite UPS, this is what will happen in 2 years.

Maybe hook the dead JNC battery up to a 12v battery charger with a delsulfator function and let it sit for a few weeks. Have been periodically charging my 770R with said charger. Original battery is going on 9 years and saved my wife from herself a couple of weeks ago. Could also be the gentle Mediterranean climate in my area.

I am unimpressed with Mighty Max. I bought a Mighty Max ML22-12 two years ago for my JNC660. When tested with a carbon pile it was substantially weaker than the original battery (B.B. Battery HRC22-12S). The Mighty Max died after 2 years. The original battery also died prematurely, after only two years, and only one use, despite being charged every 1-2 months.

The "high rate" BB Battery HR22-12 battery is $92 here:

My original battery is the JNC105, not the BB. I think I am going to replace it with the Mighty Max ML22-12 GEL which is a high rate battery like the BB.

I am surprised to see Mighty Max recommending a charge voltage of 14.5 - 14.9 for their gel battery. Usually it is advised to charge gel batteries at lower voltages than for AGM.

Do you know the max discharge current of the MM Gel battery? For the B.B. AGM it is 300A for 5 sec.
