Construction started about three weeks ago, and is moving right along, it's 32'X48', with an additional 8'X10' room on the back for the air compressor, blast cabinet and parts washer. There will also be a 8'X38' porch on the back. The walls are 12'.

The floor and foundation were pored, the floor is 6" of 3000psi concrete. Wire mesh was used in the floor and rebar around the parmeter and well as a concrete beam down the center of the floor.

vinyl siding being installed

The electricians came today and started their portion of the build. I'm getting a 200 Amp panel with plenty of outlets, both 120 and 240, plus they are wiring it for a lift. I'm using 8' T8 fixtures for the main lighting.

Last Friday the crew was finishing up the siding and trim. Today, is site clean up day and the garage doors are supposed to be delivered sometime this week. After the clean up, the contractor will begin forming up a 26'X20" concrete pad at the front of the building. The driveway will be crushed granite from the road to the pad. I wanted concrete all the way to the road, but there are too many trees close to the driveway, and I was afraid the roots would eventually lift the concrete drive. The electrician got the 200Amp panel installed, and after a couple of days of negotiations with the power company, I'm getting underground service from the power pole on the property line and a new transformer to power the garage. I got three separate 220V outlets for welders, each with its own set of breakers plus wiring for a lift, the air compressor, and a powder coating oven.

Looking good!! I like your general building layout (see my build thread noted below)! Wish I had included a porch area similar to yours as it gives the building more character.

Looking forward to more progress pics

Nice quck build, only questions are: fire blocks in wall framing and windows?
I asked the same question about fire blocks. The contractor said he is going to use a fire retardant spray foam on the OSB and framing.

There are no windows because I didn't want any unauthorized points of entry. Besides, there's plenty of light inside with the roll up doors open. I'm thinking about installing some faux windows on the front side purely for the aesthetics.

The roll up doors arrived this afternoon, and will be installed tomorrow.

Great looking build, do you plan on insulating or adding A/C?:D
Insulation will come later as funds allow. No A/C is planned, I have plenty of trees that will provide shade untill about noon, and the back pouch roof will shade on the west side in the afternoon.
