is there a good way to sharpen these after they are a little worn? I inherited a few of these (NOT 39!)
I can get mine to the point where they'll cut newspaper just like scissors. Not tooting my horn, just saying it can be done.
Can you share how you do it?
i know i missed a few.
there's another box buried in a gang box that has a couple more.
anyways,,,,,,,,,,,, 39.
I can't either, I can't ever remember throwing any snips away when they broke or got dull........just bought new. I can honestly say I never seen anyone in the trade sharpen them.
Come this October I'll have 51 years in sheet metal Local 80 will be retired for 10 years.
congrats on grabbing that brass ring. 21 more months here.
yep, never sharpened. just bought new. my boss fiddled with a few (too much idle time, i guess).
i consider them consumable, cost figured into the job
I used to put an edge on my snips but when Wiss started putting serrated edges on the blades there was no point. I still touch up my straights and bulldogs. I will start getting my international pension later this year.
