Here are a few more pictures....To answer the questions, yes I am a Geologist working in the oil and gas exploration industry and live in Corpus Christi Texas. I don't work for a big oil company just have my office in the TOY BOX as you can see in the middle of all the toys. The garage is over 4000 sq ft and took over two years to design and build, most of the time was getting the permits from the city. It seems the city has limits on the size of detached garages, a trend that is moving across the nation. I had to ditch the first design which was over 10,000 sq ft and two stories, because of the new codes, that design cost over $50,000 in just design and engineering, wasted. However I am very pleased with what I was alowed to build. The City will never allow one like this again so it is unique. If I get some time I will post some pictures of the house, It is on the water on 1.5 acres and is over 13,000 sq ft. that is the reason my garage doesn't over power the house. In the end that was why the city finally approved what I built. Thanks guys for all the interest. BTW sorry about the high cost of gasoline, but we independent oil guys in the US these days only drill for natural gas not oil, Most of the oil was found and produced in my fathers generation.

How many total cars and bikes do you currently own? Just curious b/c it must be hard to find time to enjoy them all (a good problem to have).

4 bikes, 15 cars

The really good thing is I drive each one a little each month so all my cars are very low milage cars, Helps them hold their value. Right now I am also on the list with $ down for a GT 500 Super Snake conversion for my GT 500 vert, as well as on the waiting list for a Corvette ZR1, and a 2010 Camero Vert. I will need to sell two to move out to make room for them.

So which car does the wife drive?

Having all that beautifull machinery just outside your office must be a good motivational tool. Could be a heck of a distraction too.

Who says you have to get rid of them. Buy a couple 4 post storage lifts and keep them. It looks like you have plenty of ceiling height to put some lifts in.

Nice toy collection. I'm happy having one toy at this moment, but down the road I think I'm going to be looking at a c6 possibly.

Yikes. Very nice.

So you work out of your house? Or your company is located at your house? There's gotta be some tax advantages to this, no?

What material do you have covering the walls?

Tell us more about the building. Anything special about the floor tiles? Fire suppression?

I am jealous along with a few other people here!!

I could fit 2 of my houses in your garage!!

Very nice landscaping and the design of your garage / office looks impressive!!! Oh yeah, and when you decide which 2 toys to get rid of, if you want a tax break, I take donations (and I'm not picky about which toys I would get)!!:lol:

Thanks for your kind words. This project has been a three year long passion for me. The Wood pannels were one of the many changes I made from the original design. The pro's all wanted sheetrock painted. I wanted something that made it look more like a trophy room or man's den. But I didn't want to bust my budget. so I went with 5X5 sheets of 5/8" birch from Russia that were pre cut to that size. to cover up the gaps most people use strips. I did't want that look so I painted the edges of all the panels flat black and painted all the studs where the gaps were black and left a 3/8" gap that was blacked out. Then the Birch was stained and varnished by roler. real cheep but very nice look. The ceilings are 3/8" CD plywood with blacked out edges and gaps painted white for light. very cheap but with the blacked out gaps looks like a suspended ceiling. The floor is not tile....it is just the raw green slab stamped and with color spread before stamping then a strong sealer after the ceament dried. Very, Very tough and if the ceament chips the color goes deep into the slab. Looks awsome...the only way to go. I have some pictures of the stamping while being done if someone wants to see ....just ask.
