Well, my CT8810 **** the bed this morning. It's just over a month old, I posted in this thread when I got it. I tried three different batteries in it but all that happens when you pull the trigger is the LED light illuminates but motor won't spin in either direction. It ran great and performed flawlessly before now.

sounds like they're having some pretty serious quality control issues. Just from the small sample here I've read 3-4 people returning them do to malfunction. This is why i'm not an early adopter.

Yeah I was happy with mine. It was exceeding my expectations until now. It gave no warning of trouble, it just quit.

I wouldn't have bought this one but my trusty 6 year old CT4410 finally gave up right when this one came out so I "upgraded":dunno:

Against better sound judgement I ordered a CT7850 to go with my CT8810 my IR w7150 is having some issues so I can get a feel of the snappy vs the IR

I've had a CT7850 for a good while now and it's been a good solid performer for me. It's an improvement in weight, balance, size and I love the addition of the electric brake over the ni-cad 1/2" gun from Snap On.

I'll be curious to see how the two stack up against each other from someone who actually owns both.

I just got my CT8810 earlier this week. All I can say (if it doesn't take a ****) is this impact is the toughest 3:8 cordless I have ever seen by FAR. I work heavy equipment class 8 in the rust belt and this little impact just tears through anything reasonable. I replaced the pump package in a shockcrete pump and this thing just destroyed anything I put it on. It took out 5/8 bolts with concrete on the threads. Don't get me wrong it didn't want to but I would have never dreamed to complete a job like that with a cordless 3/8. This is my favorite tool as long as it doesn't **** the bed.

Turned mine in yesterday for repairs, Snap On man was on vacation last week (figures). I'll see how this plays out. At least I'm not making payments on it. That would hurt my feelings.

You all agree though this thing is a raped ape. Anyone else surprised about the power this gun has. I think it has pore power than my mg325

My ct7580 or whatever the half inch is labeled is still working flawless. It's only 2 or so months old though. I can't wait to get the ct8810 when my dealer gets them in stock.

Whenever something first comes out the defects always seem to shine like a bright light. Snap makes great products and stands buy them so I'm not going to let that effect my purchase.

The ct8810 is going to be a damn handy little gun to. Op let us know how things work out when you get yours fixed up.

I have an mg325 that I'll be trading in on the 8810 I'll let you know if that's true. According to the specs it's not but my 325 feels pretty week and it's not that old.

The MG325 is powerful, but like most Snap On air guns, they seem to lose their power quickly. My MG325 was a beast until recently. It's now paperweight.

It doesn't seem to have lost power it just seems to not have the power it's quoted to have I could have expected to much though. I an more than happy though with my mg725 so don't get me wrong.

This is crazy I am almost positive my brand new impact has had the serial number removed my sticker on the side is cut right were it tapers down.

Yup. The serial# is on the right side of the gun on the label where it tapers down closest to the hammer case. Your dealer might have sliced it off and affixed it to your owners manual or the warranty registration card.

That's the one I have now and it does fine breaking loose lug nuts torqued to 120 ft-lbs.:headscrat Are you using the compact battery or full size?

Compact. the 8810 ripped off some lugs we tourqed to 145ftlbs, with an 3/8ths to 1/2 adapter and a deep 22mm socket, so who knows how much tourqe we lost running the adapter but it had zero issues doing it.

I am seriously impressed with mine. It took the exhaust off a 95 International 9400.Michigan truck, original exhaust, stored outside its whole life. This gun broke every bolt loose even the 1/2" fine thread that hold the muffler hangers off the frame. I am really impressed. I don't know about you guys but I never dreamed a cordless 3/8 would be that strong.

I would use the Full size over the compact. Makes a difference, but the CT8810 still sounds like it's the more powerful gun. Can't believe they were able to get so much power out of a 3/8" gun.

I gave the IR gun back to my Matco man I was so disapointed with it, It only came with the 2 small batts, plus I have SO's 1/2 impact that uses the same batts as the 8810, so I was able to save some coin by just ordering the body and using the batteries and charger I already have. Got a stronger gun for less at the end of the day.

I got my CT8810 back this morning from the repair facility and according to them they replaced the trigger switch assembly. This gun was a little over a month old when it quit. My dealer made a special trip by the shop to give it back to me as Thursdays aren't his regular day so I told him I appreciate that. Total turnaround time from the time I gave it to my dealer till now is about three weeks which I don't find objectionable. It appears to be working fine so we'll see how it does.

Late bump. Has anyone compared the CT4410 (Using 18v battery) to the CT8810? If the torque is similar, then I won't upgrade.

I have a CT8810 and I have used a 4410 with 18v battery. I would have to say in my experience the 8810 does go the extra mile. I personally would upgrade but only for a few thought out reasons. 1 SnapOn normally stands behind power tools longer than most other manufacturers. So in theory if you buy it now it should be SnapOns top dog for at least a few years. My second train of thought on the subject was SnapOns lifetime rebuilt policy. So if you have the top dog of cordless 3/8 impacts and it does unfortunately go bad you can flat rate rebuild it. So my reason of thinking was if I am inevitably going to upgrade my old one why not do it as soon as the new one is released so I have quote on quote the best impact for longest period of time before I'm ready for the next upgrade. So the question is are you inevitably going to replace that impact with in the next year or so?, and if so are you happy with SnapOn's cordless tools. This was just my train of thought and is completely my opinion. I do LOVE my 8810. I have owned it for just over a month and I can say it is the most used tool In my box. The only tiny complaint I have is it has twice the power in reverse than it has forward. There are not many 1/2" fasteners it won't take off. I can honestly say I do think it is in a league of its own in cordless 3/8". IMO

Not too concern with rebuild since I rather buy the parts and replace, rather than paying Snap On an outrageous amount. Plus I go through tools like crazy so I most likely won't have the gun for another year.

I think my dealer said something like $400. I figured for that price I'll get the kit and pawn the charger on eBay or something. I'm getting the ct8810 Wednesday. My dealer is bringing a dew back from the convention. The convention deal was like $500 or something. I got my 7850 for $550 a few months ago and I love it.

$300 for the bare impact seems ok, $400 a bit too much

In my opinion 400 is more than fair I do not normally stand behind a tool as aggressive as this impact. I scrapped out two junk cars on Monday with my 8810. Before we scrap them we have to pull at least the fuel tank and tires. One was an old Nissan with half a dozen 10mm bolts (17mm head) holding the tank in. This impact with a universal socket tore those RUSTED bolts out with ease. I don't know of another 3/8 impact that could have done that. The tires were 13/16 lug nut I didn't have to heat or cut a single lug nut it ripped those nuts of with just a moment of hammering.
