I sure hope they are dual marked. If they are only laser etched mine are going to be returned. I just looked in my 09-10 catalog and in there they say dual marked so my hopes are high.

ups dropped off my box of sockets today. They are Dual Marked! I just went through them all to make sure they were all there... 2 of the bags were opened so there were a few sockets rolling around in the box.

For a ~$1 a socket, can you really complain? How are you going to use them? Is this for your job or for a hobby? Every tool will break or wear out eventually with enough use, some just take more abuse. For most people, including myself, what you have there will do just fine.

The only time I have ever broke a craftsman socket is with a 1/2 inch impact on a chrome socket. Was replaced for free.
I will have to agree on the lisle holders they are awesome.

seems like a lot less when you show it in half a drawer. That's really 299? I didn't count

There are actually 351 Craftsman sockets in the drawer. In addition to the 299 set I have a full set of flex sockets and a few duplicates I got with some wrenches I bought off of E-bay...

Does anyone know if the sockets in this set have laser etched markings only or are they stamped as well?

My set is not dual marked. All the sockets are laser etched only. Apparently they are now dual marked. If you go to the Sears site and use the close-up tool it looks they took a photo of the laser etched only sockets for the add. I bought this set when they first started offering it. If I remember right it was $389...

How lightly do you have to close that drawer?

Pretty damn lightly, and its irritating. I want the Hansen socket holders but they wont hold all of the sockets. I tried the holders you see in the photo but they don't work very well either. I'm still trying to decide what to do about socket holders. It looks like I'm going to have to fab something up...

It would be nice if Craftsman offered something like the Hansen holders specifically for this set, but thats a pipe dream...

Have you thought about the plastic dividers they sell? Its red and in the shape of a upside down T. You would need to store the sockets flat however you seem to have the room. You could get a piece of plywood and some 3/16 aluminum rod and make a "peg board" so to speak.

"edit"
this is what I was talking about.

edit again....
this might work even better

Thanks for those links. I watched several of thier videos and I liked the socket holder and the cut to fit wrench holders. As far as fabbing something I thought about making something out of plywood or shelving board and some wooden dowel rods.
