ran into a bunch of snags on the homefront. Due to existing covenants in my subdivision, I cannot put up my 21x24 building I wanted.

Thats OK though! I ended up picking up another 65 Oldsmobile Starfire

And the 21x24 won't fit it inside, because it would have been full already.

So! I bought a prefab steel building from www.worldwidesteelbuildings.com and will put it at my shop! Its going to be much larger, at 30x40! I am going to have 4 8' overhead doors, a full concrete slab, and electricity at some point.

The building is being delivered on October 16th. I'm going to have to put up very soon after its delivered.

Pics to follow!

My building has been delivered! They did mix up the colors. I wanted grey walls and white roof, but they mixed that up :( Still waiting to see what they will do.

Excavation has begun at my shop to help level the parking lot to fix some drainage issues. A lot of the dirt has been put at the back of the shop for the pad for the garage and carport.

Here is the parking lot

I will have more pictures tomorrow.

Well I showed up to my shop today, and the contractor was here unloading some equipment

Here is my steel building, hiding in my carport

We broke ground today!

They hope to have everything formed by Wednesday, and the concrete poured Thursday. I'm excited!

Hi Justin,

I do not know how I missed this thread, but I enjoyed reading through all of it!

I too have had my stressful times with waiting for a pro fabricator to build a turbo kit, intake manifold, roll cage etc....

It cost a ton of money, but less $ than me buying $**,000 in tools and equipment and learning to use it all....

Very cool projects, keep us posted!

Thanks for the kind words. Kind of hard to believe its almost been a year since I picked my car up from having all that work done!

Here is some more progress: the steel is going up as I type. The lumber place will be bringing materials today or tomorrow. The rest of the project should happen very quickly.

Full day of work Tuesday, half day Wednesday, and half day Friday. This should be enough to get all the walls up and insulation installed. Last week of the month should be trimming out doors and possibly putting in some windows. Hope to have it all done by the end of the month. I want to move out of my storage building!

No, but that magazine came out the week I got my car, and I read that issue a million times dreaming about what I want to do with my car :)

It was in a magazine recently, kinda. It was going to be in GM High Tech, but they got shut down. The staff started their own website, and they featured my story there:

http://www.gm-efi.com/features/car-feature-perfect-formula/

I also must have read it 100 times. It was probably one of the best hot rods ever

Garage construction is complete! I had 4 loads of gravel added to the front and side of the building so now I have MUCH more drive space. Garage doors are ordered. Just doing a standard 8x8 insulated overhead sectional. I should be able to move in by the end of the month!
