Those days when you feel like a damn genius. Made a buck for pressing magnets into the wallets that hold the little knife. It has magnets pressed in backwards so the magnets auto align, and then the protrusion is the size of the hole to align everything. Snug it down with and arbor press and they go in like butter.

Yup. All steel. 38" wide X 13" tall. Steel just cuts better on the plasma, less expensive and finishes out real nice for paint.

Our 3 month old is keeping us busy :-/

Picked up a little dril press for $200 today. Arboga 1830. Need a transformer though, as it's 440 only

Yes, 3 phase 440. I already have 220 3 phase in my garage so I just need a small step up transformer.

^^ I saw the same ad and it took all my willpower not to start stacking tools to make space for it. Congratulations on getting possibly the best little radial drill made (and certainly the cutest) and a quite rare model. From the pictures, it looked like it was in good shape except for some 'oops' holes in the table, which were not in a typical smile due to the radial capacity. Have you messed with it yet and how do you like it?

I'm really glad to see it went where it will be appreciated.

*edit* Wow -- is that a hydraulic drop deck trailer? Is there a socal place that rents them? For those of us who love machine tools, your thread is the best thread on GJ....

Damn! That's like my dream small drill press.

I've had my eye on them for a long time. Always thought it would be nice to find one. It's actually more compact than I thought it would be. This is the first one I've seen in person.

Nice score

Thanks Mike!

It looks pretty good. I don't think they were oops holes, as they are threaded. I'm wondering if in a previous life, it was just set up to run the same job/s. I haven't messed with it yet. All the levers and handles work. It's set up for 440V so I need to find a small 3 or 5 kva transformer to run it.

Yup, it's a hydraulic drop deck. I rent them from a place in Orange. AAA rentals. They have this one, which is good to 3500lbs and a bigger one that is good to 8500? But you need a pintle hitch to tow the larger one, which you can rent there too. I think they have a few locations that have them. I think I've heard Sunbelt rents them too. They are a lifesaver for stuff like this. If I ever found one for sale for a decent price, I'd seriously consider buying one. They are so handy. I never thought I would be this bad of a machine tool junky haha. So much cool stuff.

Those look great.

What are all the brackets for?

Like your cheap large item tumbler solution!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They are for a fall protection device that gets bolted/welded to the structure for the guys that are working to tie off to. The guy they are for buys all the tubing and makes them. These are the brackets, gussets, tabs and tube caps.

The 'tumbler' was a pretty good deal for this job. I usually do small stuff by hand, but had close to 1000 tabs to cut, with hopefully more in the future.

kazlx, beautiful craftsmanship.

Regards

Thanks!

What do you use for media?

When I started, I just let them bang on each other. Then I added some rock from Home Depot. I've heard some people use sand blast sand, so I might try that. I was using it wet with the gravel to cut down on the noise, but it makes a mess and the parts start to flash rust after they come out. Not a big deal for this application, but for future use I'd like to avoid it.
