How much does a brick of aluminum like that cost to purchase?
More auction stuff.
$600 for everything OTD, including the table it's all on. Going to be a perfect setup table for the CNC and other machining stuff. Plus some things I've been after for a long time, a nice set of moving skates, that came with a bonus airbag, that is apparently rated to lift 32 tons 13" high. So that might come in useful. The little black boxes are two sets of 6 piece Mitee Bite toe clamps.

Bummer about the shop situation but looking great there so far. In the end it'll be more convenient to have all the toys right next to your house for those quick projects and when you can only find little time between family duties. Can't wait to see the whole shop all setup.
Vises mounted, set up with Mitee Bite Talons in one (which are so freakin awesome) and soft jaws in the other, making it easy for 2 op parts. Finished up a bunch of the little boxes from the interest I had and I'm programming to start to running my wallets myself finally, just waiting for a few specific tools that I need.
This is so addicting.

Thanks! It started out as a little personal project just to experiment simple work holding, cutting soft jaws, multiple work offsets and some other stuff. Had some good feedback, so made a few and put them up in my store. Really can't wait to start making my wallets myself. It's been this goal of mine that I feel like I've been chasing forever and now it's so close I can taste it.

Ooof, that copper looks awesome but those are some expensive chips (I just bought some copper the other day).
Yeah, looks great, copper is tricky. You did good!
Made new soft jaws for the wallets. Was getting an ever so slight witness mark from the ends bowing out once the center was carved out. Got deeper jaws and cut a full pocket minus 1/8" parallel.

New 3" face mill first pass. Ended up speeding up a hair after this. Wanted to be able to face wallets and other similar sized aluminum things in one pass.

Back at it after some hiatus. Long story short, had some major problems with the CNC that I purchased. Ended up crashing the tool changer, however, it had nothing to do with me or my programming. It was a band aid fix that failed. After going around and around, I see why they did what they did. I tried to fix it correctly, but ultimately just ended up using a similar fix, but hopefully done better. After that, I had some communications problems and ended up having a Fanuc guy come out and repair the machine. So I'm back up and running now, but it's been a bummer.
On a lighter note, I found a Kearney and Trecker 2H for free about an hour from me. Rented a drop deck trailer and went out to get it the other night. Waiting for a plug to get here so I can wire it up and get it running, but everything looks good. This thing is deceiving heavy. It's a tiny brute. A little under 4k lbs and has a 5hp motor.

On a personal side note, was also down for the count for a little bit after a good crash on my mountain bike in Whistler. Took a dirt nap on this landing. By the luck of the draw, there happened to be a girl there that snapped a pic. I destroyed my helmet and was sore as hell for a while after earning a trip to a Canadian clinic. Luckily, didn't break anything and seemingly no major damage.

bwahahaha I'm a rock and ice climber. I gave up mountain biking a few years ago. My main biking buddy moved away, I wanted a new bike but most of all, I decided that it was too dangerous.

Thanks guys. Hopefully back at it more. Was riding a ton and the whole CNC issue just had me burned out on projects. Going to try to start setting some cash aside to hopefully look at something newer...and more common...

awesome projects, glad to see you survived the crash on crabapple, I've always wanted to go to Whistler and ride but have never had the time, and probably won't anytime soon
Worked up something small for my wife. Just something to put on her desk at work. It was also a bit of an experiment in conversion. I figured it would work, but hadn't done it before.
Got some stuff back from anodize. Wallets and some small boxes that I've been making that people seem to like. I really like how they came out with black anodize. Also experimented with some engraving after anodize and I'm really happy how that looks. It really came out clean.
