any experience with a quality keypad deadbolt? suggestions? thanks.
I used one of these on my last house https://www.lowes.com/pd/Schlage-BE...-Deadbolt-1-Cylinder-Lighted-Keypad/999930600 it worked properly for me and I’d buy again if I didn’t have a different type of door now with the locks that go up and down into the floor and upper as well as the traditional deadbolt striker.
It was reliable in all weathers, battery held up well.
This photo gives the gist of it, mine is Thermatru brand door and lock setWhoa. What door would that be?

I now have 5 of these in use. I just replaced the battery on the first one I installed 7 years ago. They are awesome!

I would not get these if you experience cold weather.
We have 4 of these on the house and they all suffer from issues when the temp is -20 or below. So unreliable that we have left the doors unlocked or carry a key. I have replaced all 4 under warranty and they still have issues.

I had a Kwickset one in my old studio (similar to https://www.homedepot.com/p/Kwikset...SmartKey-Security-909-15-SMT-CP-SCR/205597290 )
I loved it because I didn't have to have a key with me going from the house, out 30 steps to the studio. However make sure you either change the battery when you notice the mechanism started to get slow or remember where you put the key.
