I've never seen anything Knipex in any HD.. Are you sure?

Absolutely. Had diagonal cutters, two sizes of pliers wrenches and two sizes of cobras.

Check their website, they have a lot more available online. Only one of my HDs that I've seen has added them to in-store stock.

I hate that HD / Lowes / Sears will carry 5 brands of the same 6 tools, but not have the complete line if anything available in store.. You need a drill? Sure - heres 38 to pic from - impact wrench?? Um.. Sorry.. Same with the hand tools. I wish they would pick at least ONE "GOOD" brand - even Channellock - and just have a rack with every pliers made from Channellock.. Same with the power tools - get rid of ONE bay somewhere in the store, and have the complete line of M18 and M12 power tools.. If they start stocking Knipex, it'll just be the same tools.. Lineman pliers, pump pliers, diagonals, adjustable wrench (pliers wrench), needle nose...

Just an FYI, the kleins at my HD or Lowes is not in the tool section but the electrical section

it's called "the 80-20 rule".
20% of your inventory accounts for 80% of your sales.
it is the buyer's responsibility to keep that 20% on hand, and do everything possible to avoid having that other 80% (of inventory) collecting dust on shelves or pegboard hooks.

hence, what you see at mass-merchandiser retailers are only "the hot licks". (holds true as well for many online sellers.)

if you want the oddball stuff you've got to deal with a specialty outfit - one that caters to the trade (whatever trade that might be.)
