My verdict is, pass.
I bought this set on a Black Friday deal, because I wanted to try the handle. Unfortunately, the bits are not standard 4mm hex. They are a little smaller, and spin in a standard micro-bit handle (Wiha/Wera/Felo/Vessel/Anex/iFixit). Likewise, normal micro bits are too big for the Klein handle.
12/01/2021 UPDATE
In the original version of this post I noted Haus of Tools had not published a negative review of this set, following an opinion statement partially related to that conduct. Recently an agent from Haus of Tools contacted me to say the review was eventually published at some point after I originally posted. Their agent could not confirm the date of publication when directly asked; for all I know it was published right before the agent emailed me.
The agent's excuse for their delay in publication was the “volume of orders
and reviews [emph. added] we get.” Interestingly, their site has a central repository all reviews they've published:
https://hausoftools.com/pages/customer-reviews. They appear to have published a total of 621 reviews. According to ICANN’s domain registry lookup, EIO first registered the domain name hausoftools.com in July 2017. While I do not know when the site opened for business, the relevant order was placed around a year ago and shipped from EIO, so the most generous interpretation of their review publication volume is something under 2 reviews a day.
Their agent further asserted, "We do publish even bad reviews on products because we do want our customers to voice their legitimate opinions" and "we publish even negative [reviews] if they are relevant.” See screenshot below tallying their 621 published reviews by star rating.
So ~0.6% (4 of 621) reviews they’ve published for all products are 1 or 2 star, while over 88% (551 of 621) are 5 star. I guess the "4.8" above indicates the average star rating of published reviews, though that is not clear.
Their agent’s initial email to me also included the following text I perceived as a thinly veiled legal threat intended to chill expression of opinion: "causing us damages in the form of lost sales…” The agent also repeatedly attempted to gaslight me with the irrelevant observation that my original post “is not true" even though the agent admitted "we had published [the review] sometime later” and thus the facts in my post
were absolutely true when written.
