I agree, the smaller sizes are used more by me. I want to get the tiny 5" one soon.

I'm not seeing where these are a good deal...

The MSRP at Sears is equal to, or cheaper than that sites sale prices.
Lowes (before they discontinued Knipex) was also cheaper.

The 10" plierswrench that I was going to buy was $59.96 at Sears and $44.00 from the Mobile Distributor Supply (and free shipping). I decided to buy them online.

How long ago did Lowes discontinue Knipex?

It's been mentioned in other threads that the cman rebrands are inferior to the real Knipex.

Don't ask me for specifics I only have the Knipex,

I have both the Craftsman and Knipex versions, the metal parts are exactly the same.

As far as Sears prices, it varies almost daily. They often sell Knipex item cheaper than anyone else and always give coupons and points away to make it cheaper. If you are wait, you can get great deals. The problem is that not all items go on sale.

Thanks OP, looks like some good deals.

I get the pliers wrench difference, but not cobra vs. alligator. The jaws look the same, and the description talks about self adjusting for the alligator and pressing a button on the cobra. I can see the adjustment teeth (??) are very different, but I don't know what that really means as far as using them goes. Just curious, as I think I'm just trying to decide which size to get in the pliers wrench.....

Alligator adjusts by opening the pliers and sliding the handles to get the jaw opening you want. Cobras you use the push button like the pliers wrench, and there are more adjustments possible.

I own both versions too. I cannot see any difference except what is stamped on the back. The CM are used regularly, less expensive and easier to warranty locally

I've read some other threads saying the same thing. Comparing the cman rebrands to the Knipex.

I would say the Cman's might be seconds that didn't pass QC, but that wouldn't work as the name is stamped into the tool. Unless Kipex does it different I though it was done during the forging process. I wanted to buy a few things but they didn't have anything I needed right now.

Mobile distributers has some good prices and free shipping but its tough to ignore some of Sears prices when I get these suprise points: You have $25.00 in points to use on any purchase over $60.00 plus seemingly never ending free shop max shipping

I know they're the same company/parent company, but how do those Orbis compare to Knipex?

Orbis?? this may help:

"Orbis is a division of the German KNIPEX Group that specializes in the manufacturing and development of high quality tools.
For over 40 years, Orbis has been manufacturing products designed for maximum performance, ease of use and long life"

Angled Pliers & Cutters

Distributed by KNIPEX, the German made Orbis Angled Head Pliers and Cutters are the newly designed comfort angled pliers for hard working hands. The 25° angle provides a natural extension of your hand which offers a more comfortable working position. In addition to comfort, the angle also allows for better sight lines when working in confined spaces – being able to see what you are grabbing, pulling and cutting is critical in getting the job done quickly, accurately and efficiently.
