Well it appears that Saturday may be delivery day so thanks again for all the information and then we can install a couple parts and see what we have… so far only 25 bucks in…

Circuit breaker is coming first, then couple days later the run capacitor shows up… I will try parts as they arrive and see if it fixes the problem…. Last item would be the regulator but even then I am out like 50 bucks././total. Maybe someone adjusted the presets out and that is why it is kicking out, those wires do go back to the motor. Can’t find any documentation on the original!

Thanks everybody for all the comments. It was the 7.50$ part that fixed the issue. Got the new breaker and installed it. Fired the unit up and ran straight up to 150 psi, popped the pressure valve…. Back down to 0 and repeat of the start up….straight back up to 150 psi….. pretty sweet compressor for 7.50!

great , glad it worked out for you.
now , you say popped the pressure valve... is it shutting off before that , did you force an overpressure situation?

Shut off and kick on working perfectly. Just did that to empty the tank and check it for a 0 to 150 psi run up…..it was flawless

In all the various "why doesn't my compressor work" threads I think this is the first time I've heard of the breaker being the issue. I'm glad for you it was a cheap fix. Given the compressor's age is very clean. Hence why I'm surprised anything is wrong with it. Either way, glad you are up and running!

Thanks, only thing i could come up with is maybe whomever borrowed it used a extension cord not rated for the electrical draw. So gonna pipe it in and start getting some miles on this unit.
